Simple answer:  Because this is where the money is.

List more, sell more. Goodwill that other, uh, stuff.

Feeling sleepy? There's an app for that.

@smileyshideaway

You know, I hear that often, " why are you still here "

Well... I am too old to find a young girl.

And too young for an old girl.

( but I could go for a "sugar momma" )

And you were the last girl to say yes.

OH... ebay....  it's the best bang for the buck.

say what you will, my stuff comes up in google search.

And you get world wide exposure.

Sure there is stuff I don't like.

But it is easy,  and the best value for me.

The question serves a valuable purpose.
If you know WHY you are doing something. WHAT and HOW become much easier to answer.

Because I want to and I can.

Is that better?  😂

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

Simple question.

  • Because my sales have been steady for years.
  • Because my buyers always pay.
  • Because it only takes a couple hours a week to list, pack and ship
  • Because I have only had 2 refunds/disputes in the last three years.
  • Because I keep 70% of my selling price after the cost of the item and all expenses.
  • Because I enjoy it

Because of all the posters so far ahead of me on this post !! It's awesome

Oh wait you mean ebay for selling not the boards grin

Because I did this part time from the start while holding down a full time job in corporate America
When I gave up the rat race in the Tri city area of NY & NJ I found it great to spend time hunting for items, listing and shipping right here in the peaceful woods I live in .

I buy all my fun & extra stuff with my profit and it doesn't cut into bill money now that we are a 1 income family.

Most of my items:

- cost less than $1.00 (a good number were free)

- generally sell for $8.00 - $25.00

- ship by media mail or first class ($2.50 to $3.75)

- can ship in a catalog envelope or padded mailer

Most people say I am just lucky to be in this position.

A few realize that it took a lot of work to put myself in this position.

Re: Why are you still here?

I sold here for a long time...got tired of the stress.

I buy here now, and it's funny (selling wise)....I have tried selling on various different sites over the years...no good. I have tried BUYING on those sites and didn't feel comfortable. No real problems, it just didn't feel like home.

Maybe it's a little bit addiction, maybe it's comfort...but I always come here first,

I almost hate to say it because (under another ID) I was part of the huge (maybe in our own minds) Mrs. Killion boycott of days gone by...can't even remember how long. 2008 maybe.

eBay has survived, and I still buy here...there really is nothing like it except Alibaba, who could have been a contender...not sure why that didn't happen.

Mr. ebay is my father-in-law.

Even though my wife is ugly as sin, there are lots of benefits.

I'm waiting for sales (or avoiding housework/listing)
