Why are certain topics HIGHLIGHTED in GREEN with a check mark at the end??

Okay St. Pat's Day is over so what with the green highlight and check at the end of subject line?

Has eBay decided to select topics of interest for me and each individual based on our participation/interest..that's SPY vision..

The green check marks signify a topic with an accepted solution. The solution is chosen by the OP and will show as the first post in the thread.

No, that's not it at all.

As explained by the previous poster, the person who starts a thread can choose a post s/he feels answers their questions/concerns and mark it as a solution. You can see the link to do so at the bottom of every reply--if you're the original poster (OP). You should be able to see the link at the bottom of every reply in this thread.

If an OP marks a reply as a solution, it duplicates that post and puts it at the top of all other replies (although it also has a duplicate in the original position of the response). A green check mark indicates the marking of a solution.

It's interesting you would jump to the conclusion that eBay wants to spy on you, when the answer is really as simple as not knowing how the discussion boards work! Smiley Happy

The green highlighting and the check mark mean that the OP has selected a post as a solution.

But you have a vivid imagination!

It's good to look at the forums with a bit of balance in mind; yes, you will see lots of threads on scammers, bad buyers/sellers, CS and Ebay in general as the bad guy....

What you often won't see is posts on the many, many honest buyers & sellers, the Ebay CS who have been often helpful, and (dare I say it?... yes, I think I will) the times Ebay actually makes a good change (though, we do all wish that would happen more often than not, especially lately ..;) ).

So true; it's easy to get caught up in all the negativity~perspective, though, such as @gew6463  mentions, is important.
