Why I can't sell my Persian Rugs on eBay?

Why I can't sell my Persian Rugs on eBay? These Persian rugs mostly antiques are not recently imported from overseas but been in the country for decades but still I'm not allowed to sell on eBay? Why other market places have no problem selling Persian rugs?

You can't sell anything from Persia on Ebay. 

It is on the banned country list.

I understand importing Persian rugs are NOT ALLOWED but we don't import we sell the rugs that been in the state for decades, and why PRE-EMBARGO?

why pre-embargoed? its like you have aproblem with mexican goverment and close all mexican restuarnt in the state.

You can't expect ebay to figure out which rugs are pre embargo and which ones are not, so the simplest solution is to ban them all. You analogy doesn't work, Persian/Iranian Restaurants are allowed in the US. However,  if there were to be issues with Mexico, ebay would ban their items as well.

Huh, I looked at this issue just a few days ago as I have some beautiful antique rugs to list.  Surprise! There are MANY listings titled Persian Rug.  I'm not clear why these would be banned. It's not like they're made of an endangered species. 

Maybe leave out the word 'Persian'?  Not all old rugs are from Persia.

I'm afraid, to get the official answer to that, you would have to take the question up with the State Dept.  I don't think ebay has a say in that, yet.

Interesting - every other site comes up with Persian rugs in a google search - except ebay.  Usually they have a few spots where they have a generic "Shop ebay for XXXXX - Seriously, we have everything!" .

Putting in Persian Rug on ebay search shows many Persian Rugs for sale. Some are Sponsored Listings.

Many rugs listed just say antique rugs, but still come up in the search.
