I'm upset about eBay taking fees for both shipping and tax! Looking for alternate platform to sell small items

All payment processors take fees from the tax & shipping. Why are you upset if its common practice ammongst the payment processors? Do you think Visa, MC, or AMEX don't collect such fees. Just raise your prices a tad to cover those fees & you will be OK. Hang in there!

Looking at the OP's selling/sold price and shipping cost, they would need to raise the selling price more than just a tad most anywhere they would sell except maybe the free no fee sites, two of which I will not mention.

The OP, at least for this post, is just upset about the fees from the sales tax & shipping. Raising the items prices just to cover those fees will not be too much regardless of what the OP is selling. 🙏😎

Fee's are so small they're irrelevant compared to running your own website. They should be the last thing you should worry about. Focus on sourcing better items.

when a seller has items going to the buyer for 99 cents, and $1,                                      the fees on shipping and sales tax is the least of their worries.  $2 at a yard sale would be more profitable.

Stop using auction format and list the items buy it now at their market prices and you will make a lot more money. Auction format is not appropriate for commodity type items like what every single thing you are selling is.

What the op means is Ebay is taking fvf fees from the shipping and tax.  Payment service companies normally take a processing fee, while Ebay implements fvf and promoted listing fees on taxes and shipping.  Quite different than what you're stating.

And to address your issue... we can't recommend other platforms in the Forum. Good luck to you, though.

Charging fees based on shipping has been an industry norm on selling sites for at least 10 years. Too many people were selling things for 99 cents with $80 shipping.
