Where to research a vintage antique

I have a Native American bow & quiver with arrows.   Was purchased at an auction by my husband 30 years ago.   Carved into the quiver is C.V.129,098D inch.   Beautiful set.   Are there any specialists on this thread that can tell where to research these items.

Appreciate any information.

Thank you

Depends on your area. Maybe local specialists or an auction house.

If you plan to sell on eBay you should become familiar with this policy:

I assume you live in Connecticut. Check with local museums, historical societies and colleges & universities.

I do live in Connecticut.   I am 20 minutes from New Haven.    Yale.  Museums galore.   Never thought of contacting a museum.    Thank you.

Re: Where to research a vintage antique

I find it kinda suspicious that anything would be carved into the quiver. Standard practice seems to have been to write reference numbers with something that could be easily removed and would not damage the item for well over a century.  Could this set be a reproduction? Guess the only way to find out is have it checked or look for paperwork the shows its provenance.

Re: Where to research a vintage antique

You can search right here on Ebay. Once you see similar items go to the left side of the page and click SOLD. That will tell you an approximate amount you should ask for your item when listing here.
