You see the title. Simple question. Q: Where is it? A: Not there!
Discussion only please - not a name and shame witch hunt.
Why or why not have such a Topic, pinned on these boards, latest post at top not bottom of the pages. Or - New Board category - Scam Watch
Such would serve to warn buyers and sellers... and eBay of the latest scams going around.
Lets face it, some are old scams and some are new innovations... and it's not all 'happy puppies playing in the sun' .. is it.
Whats bad for sellers here is bad for buyers and so, bad for sellers... the honest ones that is.
Whats your thoughts on this?

Because it's usually every other thread

and there's already TONS of information here and all over the internet. All someone has to do is Google. Sad thing is, nobody thinks to do that until AFTER something bad happens.
But a pinned thread or separate area would make things easier to find.

Agreed, but I seriously doubt ebay is willing to admit that there is such a rampant problem that a special category/thread needs to be dedicated entirely to it. (Hint to ebay: It really is that rampant.)

The obvious answer is that eBay doesn't want to be known (or have the reputation) as a site where buyers get scammed, robbed, and abused.
Until eBay changes their policies* so that these occurances are a thing of the past, their reputation will continue to deteriorate ... but I don't think eBay wants to add fuel to the bonfire.
* No, the "free-return-shipping/up-to-50%-off-for-return-fraud" is not a policy that addresses the concern ... it is simply a Frankenstein policy creates an even more caustic environment.

Ebay's rep has been in the toilet with buyers for two decades. Nothing new there, can't hide what's already common knowledge. IMO a main part of the reason Ebay seems to have a high number of fraudulent buyers is because of their bad rep among buyers. Nobody feels bad scamming a scammer, and since most people can't/don't/won't make the distinction between "Ebay" and "an Ebay seller" they have no qualms about ripping off "Ebay".

Tonns of info maybe covering a diverse range of platforms and means other than eBay.
But, being an eBay hosted forum focused on eBay matters... the Question stands to reason.
Easier to find indeed. Currently it's chaos and spread across every category of discussion fields... selling, buying, shipping, account... Threads slip of page 1 and out of attention [pin it].
I was going to cross post this in Buying board, but that would be just as confusing as no dedicated thread or Board, wouldn't it.
Ahhh, post 3, why they won't create comes down to DENIAL.
It would also show up time delays in applying a remedy or inaction.
But it's not like that... it's all 'happy puppies'... NOT.

Another thing to think about too is that this is a complaint board. Pretty much every thread is going to be about fraud, theft, scams, or general Ebay idiocy.
You can do a forum search, or just dive right in. It's not hard to find a scam or fraud thread

sellers get scammed too.
Those that come here are members and so the issues can't be denied.

Such a thread would be highly abused and it would be nothing but a naming and shaming circus. We get enough posters who come here to warn others & violate the no naming and shaming rule.and then they get mad when the mods edit their post.

What do you mean?
Not all threads are 'complaint' but even so, that can follow to a solution... and seems to me looking at that 'Accept as Solution' button that is the purpose of these boards. Yes?

That doesn't mean such a board or category specific thread has no merit f used correctly, in accordance to the 'rules' that can be interpreted to have non-violating treads removed, such as the recent cyber crime / Delaware location matter.
You gave that a 'helpful' didn't you? I did.

The best thing that any website can do including Ebay is have an introductory tutorial on what to watch for for sellers and buyers regarding known scams that many of us have discussed here over the years on the boards. There are many that are not unique to Ebay, they happen all over the web and inexperienced sellers and buyers need to know what to watch for.
1) Give me your Pay Pal info so I can send a Fake payment.
2) When possible use signature tracking for packages to prevent INR.
3) Do not sell high end extremely expensive items online until you have enough experience selling online and have sufficient back up funds if a bad transaction should happen.
4) Never agree to a transaction to take place outside of Ebay.
5) Sellers take full responsibility for items switched out in a return and if expensive enough of a scam, file local police charges, IC3 Internet division of the FBI fraud claim. Collect evidence for postal fraud and file mail fraud charges when evidence is sufficient to do so. Start small claims court case, or ALL of the above.
6) Do not give in to partial refund fraudsters SNAD requests because that keeps them in business.
7) Take six aspirin, four shots of vodka, and call your doctor in the morning if you have been significantly frauded.
Several more but, I gotta go.

Whats your thoughts on this?
I am missing the point. Who's going to read a combative, repetitive 10000-post thread about scams that wouldn't be able to find plenty of ordinary posts on scams they way they are now?
Would the purpose of such a thread be to help someone - or just to scare everybody away?
