I'm confused...I purchase all my shipping labels through Ebay and pay for them with a credit card attached to my Paypal account. The USPS said that I overpaid for a label and credited me back $6 on 12/16/21. I check my Paypal account and see that there is a transaction stating that $6 was credited back to me but my available balance is still at $0. I think maybe it will be credited back to me through Ebay MP but it is not there either. I guess I am just confused as to where this $6 credit back to me went and how can I claim it.

Wow. I always thought that money was on a one-way street with the post office.

Great question.
They used to show up on the monthly statement, but when eBay got rid of that, it seems they stopped crediting USPS adjustments (however they'll still take USPS adjustments directly from your payouts).
This has been going on for about a year. Rarely happens to us so not worth investigating.
If you talk to eBay about it, they'll pass the buck and say they're still waiting for the credit to come through with USPS, and you should contact USPS.

Nothing credited back to my credit card as of today 12/17/21. Does anybody know how long until it shows up as a credit on my credit card? I know it is only $6 but still...

It can take a couple of weeks I have read on these boards, but as it is USPS I would imagine you are pretty safe - they advised you in the first place of the over payment so I do not think they will renege on it.
And yes it is only $6, but it is $6 that belongs to you and shipping is expensive enough LOL

Hi @modulok!
I'm with a large CC company ... and I don't see my refunds posted for 2-4 days. You shouldn't expect to see anything within 24 hours ... MUCH too soon.

Good point. I have never received any money back for label over payment. I can’t track the cancelled label money or the label that you bought for buyer who never used it.

label that you bought for buyer who never used it.
You won't be charged if they don't use it.......
I've gotten the $6 back on ebay, showing in the payment summary....which eventually goes to checking account......But I use pending balance to pay for labels. Only transfer once a wk.

I thought it would be only for fedex and ups (I am not charged till used) not usps. Everytime I have return request , I am being quoted how much the shipping label is- I thought I am immediately charged and if it is not used they return it back to pending funds. I think that when you use balance to pay for label they will credit you and apply it to pending funds. They only credit to paypal if the transaction was past their closing billing cycle. How do you track down refund for labels that I cancel?

If your PP account has an attached credit card, the refund would go to the card.
It's "like to like". When you return something in a store, you get cash if you paid cash, credit or debit card refund if you paid with a card.
Remember you are not paying anything really when you use a credit card. You are drawing on the trust the card company has that you will (eventually) pay them back, with interest.
So there was no actual money involved.
