Where Are The Buyers?

Only two sales this month and very few watchers.  In my years of selling, never been this slow.

Where Are The Buyers?

Laying low because of Christmas expenses?  Waiting for tax refunds? Taking a buying break?  Hibernating?  Coping with adverse weather conditions?

D All of the above?

Nobody is seeing your listings?  Buyers have become uber-cheap?  Your inventory is no longer in demand?  People have become better shoppers, than buyers?  Pick one, or more-

I use to get 40 to 50 offers a week on just a couple dozen coins. Most unreal lowball offers of course.....but at least people were looking. Ive had a couple gorgeous morgan dollars this week get listed and not a single view yet. Meanwhile.......I have sold a few using local platforms that dont require shipping or fees and gotten full price.

Something isnt quite right.

You left out waiting for paychecks - government shutdown impacted more than the 800,000 government employees.   Plus those that are hibernating or trying to keep warm might have to worry about the utility bills that will follow the cold weather.    Looking back over my sales for the past two weeks - 90% of them came from southern states and the three west coast states.   Typically half my sales come from north of the Mason Dixon line and mid-America.

Right as rain.  Lack of paychecks and trying to keep up with heating bills are definite concerns that will impact buying.

You've sold 14 items since November. You sold 8 in Nov, 3 in Dec and 3 in Jan. You have 46 items listed in very crowded categories, along with some higher priced items mixed in. Doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me. Sorry 😞

What? you dont remember all the flash sales and coupons given out in November, December???

I easily predicted that buyers will be loading their carts and waiting on sales for the first half of 2019.

You have some very nice pieces listed !! But as said they are mixed in with very many items. Try something different such as free shipping, lowering prices , etc. on a few of those items and see if they move !! Always try something , anything you can instead of doing nothing. I don't know your buy to sell ratio but sometimes it's better to make a few bucks rather than trying to double your money. Just a thought is all. Good Luck

Where Are The Buyers?

I just did my January numbers.  In 2018 I sold 36 items with two accounts including ebay stores.  In 2019 I made 37 sales with four accounts and no ebay stores.  Total number of items listed roughly the same.   Sports stuff and craft items level, books down quite a bit, Christmas items and other collectibles up a bit.

I don't sell much in the way of jewelry,  no women's clothing, and no items over $75.    Buyers are still out there, but a lot depends on what you are selling.    I might make a few more sales if I offered free shipping, free returns, or accepted best offers, but I doubt that any of them would improve my bottom line.

Your title and item specifics are all good. I would strongly consider three adjustments:

1. Use white backgrounds. It is Google and Cassini search engine friendly and the software will favor your listings for it.

2. Use 12 photos. Even if some are repeat some, use 12. Try and put the product in your buyers hands visually by showing all angles possible and its intended application

3. Use bullet points and fill it with proper keywords in your descriptions. Its a cleaner look the search engines and buyers favor

Hope some of this helps and best to you

Please don't take this wrong, but I about died when I saw the Hummel.

when I read this, that was my first thought. She's probably trying to sell off a collection of Hummels that someone convinced her were valuable. Someone just pulled a lost sheep after rel listing it. Their price, and it didn't sell..... $3.90. That's 90% less than your price and it did not sell.

You also have clothes and jewelry. Both are overstuffed categories and from what I am hearing there is a great new site to buy those.....
