When will eBay stop using PayPal?

Hello, I would like to know when is the day that eBay will stop using PayPal?  Because eBay keeps emailing me about joining manage  payments.  And I’m not ready to join yet.

Thanks

they won't totally stop, at least so far as has been announced.  Paypal will continue to be a payment option for buyers at least thru 2023......but that means buyers will be able to pay with it, not that paypal will continue to handle the payments to sellers........

Define what you mean  by "stop using PayPal"?

Buyers will be able to use PayPal to make payments for the foreseeable future, in other words many many years.

Sellers will gradually be directed to eBay's Managed Payment system over the next year or two. It's looking like PayPal's newest announced changes will mean that sellers could if they want have their fund from Managed Payments be directed to their PayPal account although the purpose of doing so for a seller is questionable (other than those that are trying to avoid having money pass through their bank accounts).

eBay has stated numerous times that buyers will at some point (perhaps later this year) be able to use PayPal as a payment method when purchasing from sellers enrolled in Managed Payments. When that happens there seems to me to be no reason left for sellers to care how a buyer pays and sellers will have no need for a PayPal account for transactions related to eBay.

Do you know how shipping labels will be purchased by sellers, if there is no need for a PayPal account?

Same way they do right now, the only difference is the funding source.

Supposedly summer of 2019.

When will eBay stop using PayPal?

As a long time eBay seller (started 1998), I have reservations about setting up a dedicated bank account for the new managed payments.     I would like to know exactly the date when ebay is pulling the plug on the current system of having Paypal as the only choice for receiving payments, and mandating a switchover to managed payments ?

I just don't want to be surprised one day when I won't be able to sell when managed payments become mandatory.

Thank you -

John

While all sellers will be enrolled by some point in time, you will not know when YOU will be enrolled until you receive an invitation/notice. It appears that most of those who have been enrolled in this fashion get about a month's notice. If one keeps up with the boards (ignoring all the doomsayers and whining posts), one would know what the programme entails, what the current issues are, and that, combined with about a month's notice, should enable you to plan accordingly. I know it is stressful, but this is the system the Gods that Be have chosen, so its best to take advantage of ANY advantage one can find in this skip full of nonsense...............
