When to use “More than 10 Available”

And where is the switch to activate the “More than 10 Available” option.

Does this then require an approval from the seller to buy more than 10?

Need some help with this or please point me to the documentation on how to activate and use this.
Thank you for the help. Appreciate it.

I found the switch. Thanks. When activated, it says that it makes every listing follow that rule of showing "More than 10 Available".

I never did find where - "in the site preferences you can limit the # of buys one buyer can make......within a certain time frame........"

I would like to hear any advantages or disadvantages of using this option. I suppose that there might be advantages of using this for expensive items or items that you may have a plethora of that would run the purchase into many hundreds or thousands of dollars.

limiting buyers is going to depend on what you sell.........  there have been a few cases, over the years I've been here, where buyers tried to buy out a store......hundreds of items.......of course never paid.  Sellers were then hung with waiting the 2 days to file UPI and then waiting for it to complete, during which time all their items are off line.

limiting the time is probably more reasonable.  Some buyers will buy one thing and then another 3 days later and string it along indefinitely without paying.

Again those are far out scenerios.........but the reasons those choices are there.

ebay is testing out/implementing, I can't figure which.....and immediate payment requirement on anything less than $1000.......so how those things are going to play into that I don't know........

When to use “More than 10 Available”

The number of items available in a single listing is NOT connected to buyer limits across all listings. Using "more than 10 available" simply hides an exact number from the prying eyes of competitors.  Visible or not, the quantity is unique to a given listing and does not affect any other listing. Buyer limits kick in only when a buyer wants to purchase more than your stated limit, whether from a single listing, several listings or a combination of both. You can specify a time span and a minimum feedback score, too. ~~C~~
