When creating a shipping label...

... there is a line that says: Package Protection: your package is covered up to (insert the amount of the listing price).

I asked a question recently about combining orders because of this line.

I know that USPS Ground Advantage is covered up to $100, so is this line for the Ebay Ship insurance (separate from the claim you make with USPS)?

My concern is combining multiple orders into one box with one shipping label. If I print a label from this listing, but I have combined 3 orders and need to file a claim with USPS, am I limited to the amount of the 1 listing?

I mean, I can't see how USPS would even know what's in a package I mail or have access to the listing. They ask you to provide proof of dollar amount when you file a claim, so I assume whatever you provide them is all they know?20250409_215303.jpg

What exactly does this line mean?

The line means you're covered up to the cost of the item. I'm assuming in your example the item is $14.99.  If you have 3 items and you click the "combine shipping" or maybe "combine items" link when you go to print a label so that all 3 are included under the one label, that amount should increase to the cost of the 3 added together or to $100.  I'd guess that if one of the items goes missing or gets damaged during shipping that you'd have to provide an invoice to show the value of that item.

Edited to add

Once you click that combine link to get one label for all 3 items and pay for the label, you should be able to go back and print an invoice or packing slip that combines all 3 items on one page.  If your package went missing so that you would  need all 3 items covered/paid, your invoice would show the value of each one as well as the total, which is the amount you would be asking for.

Yes, that is correct, USPS have no idea what you have in the package until you make your claim and provide some sort of proof of value.

Where is that "combine items" link located?

My listing are BIN with automatic payment required, so can I combine them after the payment has been made?

You should be able to, unless there's some block that ebay puts in since the items are paid for individually under immediate payment required.

If there isn't a block, you should be able to go under your orders to ship list. Click on the 3 items that go together. Then click on the "shipping" link at the top of the list (don't click the one by an individual item).

That will take you to the"get labels in bulk" page.

At the top it says,  "Combine orders per buyer"

There will a number in a circle next to the box that shows how many items are included.

It will figure out the postage and the total amount of the combined items.

Use bulk shipping @mamacassidy . Click the link on the top right of that single label page you're on to switch to bulk shipping or go direct to this link: https://www.ebay.com/ship/bulk

On the bulk shipping page look for this on the top left and click on it:

You can check the box next to other orders to remove them from the page if you only want to buy the one label at a time.

I'll definitely try that next time I get a combined order, and I'll come back and update this thread.

Thank you for the info, I really appreciate it!
