When are transactions added to performance report?

I was unable to sell for three months. Now I'm trying to get my sales in the last 12 months above 100 to maintain my Top Rated status. I've thus been selling a lot and checking my "transaction" stat frequently.

I've noticed that my number of transactions tends to get stuck at a number and stay there for a long time. I had 72 transactions for about a week, then 89 transactions for about a week.

I think that what's happening is that this statistic is updated once a week. In my case, this seems to happen every Monday. The weekly change allows eBay to subtract the transactions from 53 weeks ago as they add those of the week just completed.

I note, too, that sales to the same buyer within seven days count as one transaction. There may be other ways in which the number of "transactions" will be smaller than the number of items sold.

Am I correct about this, as far as anyone knows? Those of us who are motivated to make transactions in a brief time span would like to know what eBay is actually asking us to achieve, so we can do that!

Re: When are transactions added to performance report?

It is my understanding that the evals are on the 20th of each month, with the results of the evaluation taking effect on the 1st of the following month, so no matter how they are counted (daily, hourly, weekly) the results will should be the same.

I may be incorrect. It would not be the 1st time today.

Re: When are transactions added to performance report?

You are definitely correct as far multiple items bought by a single buyer during a single "week" (forget if that is Monday to Sunday or Sunday to Saturday.

As far as being updated once per week, not sure about that but the only date that eBay actually looks at is what is showing on the 20th of the month when the evaluation is done.

Note that you dashboard says "IF we evaluated your today" but the only actual evaluation is on the 20th.

Regardless of whether the number is updated daily or weekly, it will reflect the net transactions after adding new completed transactons and subtracting transactions that roll off due to being more than 12 months ago.

The evaluation on the 20th of each month is based on the previous 12 full calendar months.  For example, the evaluation on August 20 will be based on your transactions from August 1, 2022 through July 31, 2023.  Any transactions which occur during August will show up in your September evaluation.

As far as multiple transactions with one buyer in one week only counting as one: I thought that only applied to feedback scores.  The TRS policy page merely states, "You have at least 100 transactions and $1,000 in sales with US buyers over the past 12 months."

Re: When are transactions added to performance report?

Thanks everyone for their input. This is the answer that provided the most clarity, and the important information that whatever I sell in August won't contribute to my rating on August 20. My number hasn't updated from 89, so I expect that I will lose top-rated on 20 August and then get it back on 20 September.

Thank you, everyone!

Re: When are transactions added to performance report?

It's accurate that eBay consolidates transactions from the same buyer within a seven-day period into a single transaction count. This practice prevents the same buyer's multiple purchases within a short span from disproportionately inflating your transaction count. Instead, eBay treats such purchases as a single transaction, reflecting the platform's focus on overall sales activity rather than individual instances.
Since eBay combines purchases from the same buyer, fostering customer loyalty and encouraging repeat purchases within a seven-day window can be an effective strategy. Offer discounts on additional purchases or create bundles to entice buyers to add more items to their carts.
