Dropped the package off at usps 2 days ago:
it gets routed to the local distrubtion center
then it gets to las vegas, NV usps distribution center (vegas was the original address location)
then it gets routed to seattle, WA usps distribution center
then it gets routed to another city usps center in WA
then it departs that city usps and going to another location...
what is going on? why do buyers do this or what is the reasoning behind this? last time this happened my package ended up outside the USA. but whats the point of rerouting through all these centers and how do people do that?

Has nothing to do with the buyer.
Package could have fallen and got put on another truck.
Package could have got stuck to another package on got on the wrong truck.
They might have run out of room and stuck it on a truck to get it out of the way.
There's a lot of reasons the package could be taking the scenic tour, but it's not the buyer doing it.

The USPS is having to re-route due to various reasons. Just hope it makes it to your buyer.
