What the heck is going on with sales????????????

Hey Ebay I know you don't care but what the heck is going on with sales????????? I have been selling on this site for over 20 years and the sales last year and this year are pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!  I guess there is a reason that Ebay's stock price is $60.00 and Amazon's stock price is is over $3000.00!!!!!!!  Stop changing things and stay the heck out of our business. I guess if a the execs want to make a company crash and burn this is the business model to follow!!!!!!!!!  Sellers don't have a clue as to what works on this site and what doesn't. What's the latest glitch of the day????????? Does anything really work on this site anymore?????  You have eliminated some of the most productive categories in favor of cheap foreign garbage!!!!!!!  Why don't you get together a large group of long time sellers, if there are any but me left, and get our opinion on what needs to happen?  Nobody in management should be allowed to work at Ebay until they have gone out and found items to sell and done that for at least a year!!!!! Sorry just venting because I know nobody of importance will read this at Ebay.

Exactly!  People running eBay have no idea how this site fails for sellers.  Nor do they understand how their asinine policies interfere in our success.  It used to be a site that acted as a "middle man" between buyer & seller.  Now they, endlessly, add rules to dictate each individuals' selling practice.  Stop 'throttling.'  Stop taking a % of the shipping when you provide ZERO service for that percentage.  Stop telling us we MUST accept returns & pay for that shipping.  Stop acting like it is the sellers' fault when mail gets lost or is incredibly slow due to a 3rd world P.O. (USPS)  Take your fees for providing the website & butt out!   🙂  I can see your frustration when you have about 2 1/2x the listings I do but less sales this month than I had last week.  I wasn't pleased with only 10 sales in the week & was very fortunately one kind buyer bought 5 of those listings.  I only had 3 sales the previous week.  Meanwhile, with less eyes on my items, I sold things to 20 people at the flea market in only 6 hours.  Good luck to us all.   🙂

Sales for us are great for 2-3 days and then off for 2-3 days........we must be on some sort of rotation wheel?  lol

The inability to save a template last week was maddening.  Gave up trying to list.

You make a Very Good Case here! Something has changed drastically over the past few months. I am looking at the Views and Watchers indicators and that tells me something right away. There is far less exposure on the listings. Not sure if this is an Internal or External Force but the new Method that Ebay uses on - the Zero out the counter every month has of course caused this. But what I find really interesting is how I am prompted to PROMOTE the listing for a tune of almost $5!!! Now I'm no Bean Counter but I firmly believe that what the Ebay Executives have done is reduced the Data Storage cost and types of plans to the Browser Companies such as Google for  “search engine optimization.” I believe that Big Corporations like Amazon are paying to be at the Top of the List and its not just Alphabetical and organic. Also, if you look at some Key Searches 'the Paid Ads' are at the Top. Ebay has simply drastically reduced their Advertising budget and all of Us Sellers are paying the a higher price with less sales now. So the inevitable will be. Poorly run Companies don't last. I'm ready to Jump Ship!

You're absolutely right! We are being shammed on this. I charge the right price or accurate price, and sometimes not enough and Ebay is taking a percentage. **bleep**? It is absolutely ludicrous. If I had an extra few 100 thousand dollars I would take them to Court and expose this all over the Media. We should All band together and Demand a Stop to this! Ebay needs to go after the Scammers on their Platform, not the Honest People with Integrity. I have seen Multiple Listings of the Exact Same Item with no apparent oversight and I have noticed too many High Selling Items that don't Jive with the Real Market Value and what is Ebay doing about these Manipulators? Has Anyone ever heard of the Term - 'Stick-ins"? This refers to people - 'in cahoots' with the Auctioneer or Auction House to drive up the price. The word cahoots means: colluding or conspiring together secretly. Hmmm...something funny is going on here.

I would love to sell on Ebay, but I don't because when I tried all I got were 'scammers'. Not just one or two,

but they kept one after the other. Like the site was infiltrated with them. So I closed it. I'd like to see more security  with some kind of system that tracks people registered to browse. IDK. But not good.

Looking at the news and seeing what is happening in the economy is not a conservative or liberal thing, it is a common sense thing.  Yeah, eBay has screwed things up royally over the last month (actually over the last years but this month has been exceptionally bad) but you can't rule out $5-$6 a gallon gas, inflation that brings back memories of the late 70's early 80's and supply chain problems as part of the reason buyers aren't buying.   People are scared and are just trying to make it to the end of the month with a few dollars left.  Buying non-necessary items on eBay or Amazon is not a priority.  Oh, and yes, people on Amazon are also complaining about the major drop in sales, it isn't just here on eBay.

The majority of the problems we are seeing as a country right now is that we shut each other down immediately when they are perceived to be in the 'other'  political party .  If that doesn't change, and soon, the future of the country is in real jeopardy.

I sell computer parts, processors, RAM, etc to resellers in China. It's not just hobby items that are not selling, it's everything. No views, constantly dropping prices, and still no sales. Only offers I get are 0 feedback scammers. 

And yes, this was not the case 18 months ago.  This is worse than during Covid.

I checked the first item I saw that I know other sellers would have, 1982 Pac-Man card game. There were 75 available, 70 of them were cheaper than yours. Could it be your prices?

I pretty much have "make offer" on 95% of my listings. Have not seen any offers or buys in 4 days.

Surely the vault opening has nothing to do with this.
