Ok so there's a LOT of doom & gloom, the sky is falling, posts about MP and the like so I figured I would try something a little light hearted..

Tick-Tock let's see how long this post will last before poofing..

Perhaps the MODS will gimme a lil slack since we're still waiting on that "Break Room" board..

I've often wondered about other members handles and how they choose them.

Some are petty obvious, some quite clever but many are still a mystery to me..

Is anybody willing to share how they chose their posting ID?

I'll go first; Mine is a play on peek-a-boo I see you, I know the spelling is atrocious. LOL

I've used this handle on & off for over a decade..

He loves 50 First Dates, Cinderella (one of the newer ones), Pitch Perfect (for Pete's sake) and wait for it..... The Little Mermaid. There's more but those are the ones I can think of atm.

If I told any of his friends they would NEVER believe me- we have two sons and they laugh about it..

Being a cat person myself, the name Katzrul15 is so cool.

Mine is pretty simple. Magic was a nick name given to me way back by teammates in HS because my last name matches that of a well known superstar.

It kind of stuck with me through the years...

A very good friend of mine is a delicate little thing and looks very feminine. Her favourite movies are the Terminator series and she does a great Schwarzenegger!

It's great to see people enjoy what they like without worrying about it. Just as I think people should wear whatever they please on their own time.

The short answer: My grandma had a cat named Gosimus.

The long answer: When I was a child, maybe six or seven, my grandma had a cat named Gosimus. This is pronounced like two words, go simus, with a long i in simus. Like sinus but with an m. If the word or name had any significance to her, I don't know what it was and it's too late to ask now.

One day I was ''playing'' with Gosimus in the house, using my grandma's broom. I thought it was great fun, though the cat had a different perspective on the event. I would kind of sweep him with the broom, and of course he'd take off running, but he couldn't get outside and I'd always catch up with him again. Eventually he made the mistake of coming to a stop in a corner. When I got there, he had no way out except right past me, he was trapped.

You ever see those pictures of the Halloween cat, with the back arched and the fur and the tail standing straight up all bushed out? Cats really do that. Gosimus did that, and he let out some kind of sound, it wasn't like a cat sound I’d ever heard, and to this day it's difficult to describe. Sort of a cross between a moan and a creaky door.

We must be born with some sort of vestigial instinct from our caveman days, because even at age six I recognized something in that sound, I recognized danger. I backed off pronto and put away the broom.

Ever after that, Gosimus and I got along okay, but each of us always kept a wary eye on the other.

Nothing much to say. Octa = 8 & Hex = 6. I wanted a ID so no one can guess what I sell. I realized when I have a ID like computer depot or something else that sound like I am a big business, the return rate increased for me.

And Yes 68 means nothing. Its just rhyme better so I picked it.

@gosimus Oh my stars I LOVE your story.. I enjoyed every word.. Thank you so much for sharing it.. My grandma called that caterwauling. As a cat owner I KNOW that sound and it never means something good. LOL

@chapeau-noir Your friend sounds like a gal after my own heart.. I'm an action movie fan myself.. I named my first son Kyle after Kyle Reese in the Terminator.. <<-- No joke.. My other son is Logan, after Logan's Run..

I couldn't agree more; one of my favorite saying is: You do you.. I dance to my own tune and make my own style.. Convention be dammed.. LOL

In General: I have enjoyed reading through these replies more than I can say.. We all post together so much, it's nice to get a little glimpse of who everyone is..

I have been online, on various message boards for,, well,, forever it seems. Way back to AOL chat room days..

The people here at eBay are the cream of the crop.. So many super nice & helpful members.. I have never participated in a better group..

Y'all give yourself some props!! You give of your time & your knowledge, often it's a thankless endeavor yet you do it day after day.. I applaud you for it..
