I have read some really bad storys online about below standard. My question is will selling on ebay be over for me? Can you all look at my account and determine if I'm toast?
My defect % is 3.94%, all 5 are because I cancled the order, then gave a refund before even shipping the order. This makes no sence as to being a defect. I am starting to hate ebay allot and would greatly appriciate any other sites were I can sell on. I need sites that have close to or more users than ebay. Help.
I do not want to be toast. I like ebay and toast. I mean I made 1100$ in a month on this site when I get my items by the freaking weight. I love this site, but I don't think ebay loves me or anyone in this god forsaken world.
So look at my account and please give me your honest opinions on if I'm toast and what will happen to my account also. Thank you.

Sometimes life is not about ebay or being toast, there is more to it. You may have made a mistake like I did but maybe not but that doesnt mean everything comes to an end, if your account is toast as you say then just open another one or sell elsewhere or get a traditional job, in a brick and mortar building do not be in a hurry on the giving up part...

It really depends how much competition you have as to how much it will hurt your sales but your fees are going to go up. I had this happen and it took several months to get out of it. Sales slowed way down because of losing top seller rating which made it take even longer to get out of because it's all based on a percentage of transactions. I did some discounts on hot items which seemed to help. Good luck.

We can't see your dashboard or defects. Defects are definitely a way to end your time here though. There are only two ways to get them---cancelling for out of stock and unresolved by seller cases. Why did you need to cancel so many orders?
I believe you will now pay higher final value fees until you can pull your account back up.

If you fall below standard you pay higher FVFs. Not sure why think cancelling and refunding resulting in a defect makes no sense? It’s been the policy for a few years now. You can’t cancel without penalty unless the buyer asks to cancel
or there is a problem with their address. If you were unable to fulfill the orders then you earned the defects. If you’ve got 5 OOS defects I would say you are toast, done for. Or very close to being toast.

While you may not think it's defect-worthy, it is. Being unable to fulfill an order, through no fault of the buyer, is not a good buying experience. eBay wants to keep its buyers coming back by knowing they're going to get what they ordered.
You'll have a higher FVF (14%) when you go Below Standard. I'm not sure how long they'll let you stay **bleep** before they suspend/restrict you.
Maybe get a whole bunch of cheap items that'll flip fast so you can boost your numbers.

This makes no sence as to being a defect
All of us are buyers somewhere, which includes you, right? I think you're toast.
You are upset with yourself, not eBay. In your own best interests in being allowed to continue selling on eBay, do not keep up with the policies that are clearly posted, as well as the fact that defects are totally within your own control?
It should bother you that each of those buyers whose transactions you chose to cancel, spent their time (who knows how much time, considering your items are on the order of garden-variety stuff) finding and choosing your item, paid, and all they got was a lousy refund?
You will not get any sympathy from the community because your 5 buyers likely left eBay permanently, which means you have deprived every other eBay sellers of the opportunity to compete for those buyers' business - and deprived Bay of potential final value fees.
I wish eBay would consider changing the fvf policy to NOT refund fvf on OOS cancellations.

If they do that they will have to institute a penalty for sellers who lie about the cancellation reason. Otherwise all of them will just say they were buyer requested.

I was below standard 2-3 years ago. This was before these seller metrics went into effect. I had several packages that were never scanned, and I refunded everyone. I was restricted to only listing 10 items per month. I had a premium store at the time. As listings ended, they could not be relisted. I was still being charged the premium store fee, but could not relist. Eventually, when all listings ended, I started to list items with free shipping so I could get my feedback and DSRs up. It took several months, but I finally did it.

Well, learn me somethin' every day. I didn't know fees went that high, or even up, for Below Standard. Or, maybe I kind of did know that for Below Standard. What happens to the Above Standard seller's fees? (Geez, that was awesome when ebay was calling them ASS's for a while.)

Wow.. i had no idea fvf was refunded in OOS cancellation by buyer. What is the reasoning behind eBay doing it so far? By far, this is the only seemingly seller-friendly policy from eBay I have heard of - and it makes NO sense.. LOL

I agree that it makes no sense; this is another learnin' experience for me. I had no idea the seller would receive a FVF refund for a transaction that resulted in a defect for the seller.

Oh yes it does. eBay understands that buyers hate that. Hang around this forum and you'll see a lot of complaints from buyers about sellers who do just what you did. That's exactly why eBay is cracking down on cancellations.

Op, sorry this happened to you, but you need to stop cancelling. A refund does not make doing that right. It frustrates the buyer, angers them, and wastes their time.
The two dreaded defects are out of stock and case closed without seller resolution, and they can kill your account.

I'm surprised they haven't~~revenue stream.
