Hi
My question is not "Do I have to accept return and refund" ?
I do and accept Ebay policy. I always promptly accept returns if Ebay does not do it first.
But blocking is my decision.
My question is, at what point do you block or never block?
One purchase returned?
2?
10?
Never?
Thanks
Weatherloach

I usually block with the first one. But that's just me...

If the buyer files a not as described case, you will be refunding. Describe well and include a lot of measurements. With luck, there won't be a lot of returns. Clothing is way over saturated on eBay anyway. Sales could be tough.

You might risk losing a customer if you block the first time. Some buyers will return an item and repurchase the size they need. Then there is a greater chance of them becoming a repeat buyer. Having a good return policy creates buyer confidence and trust. Blocking them on one return immediately ends the possibility of having a customer.
Only time you should block is if they are abusing returns which I've rarely encountered. I'm a medium to high volume seller. This isn't my selling account.

Hi,
I don't sell clothing on eBay I sell sports cards, but if the buyer files a item not as described unfortunately you have to refund . Ebay will side with the buyer 100 percent of the time whether they are being truthful or not .
Technically you don't have to refund the buyer, but the buyer if they opened a item not as described file, will get their money back and keep the item if you don't follow the procedure for refunding the person filing the claim . Is it fair nope , but it is what it is .
As for blocking the person and this is just me . I block immediately once I have my item back and refund is given . I don't give second chances ever . That is just me I'm very jaded with certain buyers. I'm honest in my descriptions etc.as I'm sure you are . So if the buyer only see's a price and doesn't read the full description and waste my time and money they have lost the opportunity to but from me again .

I block those do not respond politely and businesslike to a problem. Those who just open a claim with eBay without even emailing me with any questions are blocked. Just my opinion. I feel a buyer should email a seller before opening a claim. As it states somewhere I read it a long time ago far, far away, the buyer should work it out with the seller first.

I provide accurate measurements, sizes and photos so when I get a "doesn't fit" return, I refund then block immediately. If you can't figure out if it'll fit after the information I've provided then you need to go down to the store and spend all day in the fitting room.
I also block people who seem to have OCD like obsessions over measurements and sizes because it's a sign of a high returner. Again, go to a store and sit in a fitting room all day.

Why would you block? Returns for "doesn't fit" are one of the risks that come with selling clothing. Even if something should fit according to the measurements, you don't know if it's going to fit properly ON YOU until you try it on.
Unless this person has returned multiple purchases, it's most likely that the item truly didn't fit them.

We must be related. I also block too after 1 return request. My descriptions are accurate and I have plenty of clear photos. I will add the buyer to my best buddy list immediately after getting a return request.

I don't block for routine return requests, and I've had repeat buyers and they don't return anything else. I don't block for much, actually.

Just one of the risks of selling clothing and shoes. It is definitely not an exact science. I provide measurements when I sell clothes but I am not sure how much attention is given them. Can’t say I personally look at measurements when I shop. It is more about classic, slim or modern fit and my experience with a brand that guides me. And, of course, some of the clothing that ends up being resold is resold because it doesn’t quite fit the same as other pieces by a given manufacturer.

Exactly. I'll never forget going shopping with a friend to find bridesmaid dresses for another friend's wedding... the two of us both tried on the same dress in our respective sizes. I'm slender and petite, so the dress looked fine and perfectly appropriate on me. My friend, however, is curvy and buxom, so while the dress technically fit her, it also made her look like Jessica Rabbit, which was very much NOT the look she was going for with it. Just because something fits doesn't mean that it FITS.

Depends on what MY return policy is. If I'm NO Returns (which I almost always am) & they force a return via a SNAD, then blockety block within seconds. If I'm allowing returns (which I do from time to time as tests), then no, I don't BBL for doing something I'm saying is ok.
My last test of allowing returns went HORRIBLY bad. More returns than I typically get in 2-3 years in a 6 week period including several fake SNADs simply b/c they didn't want to pay return shipping. That was a few months ago. I went back to the NO Returns that I've had for years & I've had no SNADs & only 1 return request in all that time, which I allowed b/c she had bought multiple items & asked nicely. I usually do not allow them.
I wanted to BBL everyone who returned, but I didn't think it was the right thing to do, if I allow returns. To me, it's most dependent on what MY policy is.
