I searched "teapot with off set spout", and came up with nothing. It is very well balanced for pouring, as long as you hold the lid in place with your other hand. I don't know if it is a special kind of teapot, or just someone's ceramic class project.

Position of spout seems right for the invalid feeder, but way too heavy I think. And too large for neti pot except for maybe a horse!

How big is it? You didn't give dimensions.

Diameter of lid area and bottom 5", maybe 7" at chubby part of middle. Approx 6.25" tall. Weighs just shy of 3 pounds.

Yes, that's pretty big.
Well, it has definitely been used, based on the drip line showing down the spout to the base.
Maybe it was for feeding broth to an adult invalid? Who needed to be fed more?
It looks like there are letters or a logo on the end of the handle, and something on the bottom as well. Maybe that would provide a clue.

The handle characters look vaguely Asian; it was left in our house by the previous occupant who was Croatian. I've always just had it on our hearth, but now that we are on a wait list for the "old folks home", I'm looking around to see what I can do without. That will be an ongoing project involving many passes through the house!

Winner winner chicken dinner!! The old residents (in their 80's) left behind tons of unopened vitamins and supplements as well, so makes some sense that they did herbal teas as well. Thanks so much!

Just found the exact pot in Solds. Think I'll do Nextdoor or garage sale since handle is missing glaze and it is so heavy.
