What is the exact date TURBOLISTER cannot be used anymore ?

I want to transfer a lot of items before Turbolister stops working.

Ebay sent a mail what says  "February"   but February has 28 days.

I want to know the last date I can list items so I can actualize my files before the ending date.

When it is february  1st    I'll have to list my last items on january 31th,  when it is February 28th  I have 4 more weeks to actualize my files

Who can help me  ??

I doubt very much that the exact date is actually known.

Keep in mind that eBay gave more than 2 years notice that TL would at some point cease to function when the Legacy API goes away.

I don't use it to list, but I do use it for storage. I haven't been able to sync for several months now. It may no longer be working - I know mine doesn't anymore.

I've never used it but I seem to remember someone posting not that long ago about still being able to sync it. But it's possible I'm thinking of something else! 🙂

Turbo Lister still works fine, syncs, uploads.

I believe there are a few issues where some store or category stuff (that doesn't affect me) has not and will not be updated, but otherwise it's still chugging along.

Unknown when the plug will be pulled (it's been on life support for at least a year now after being pronounced dead)

I thought the plug wasn't going to be pulled until SH had the same functions... which it doesn't.

Don't ever hear anything about those functions any more much.

IIRC eBay pronounced TL dead because SH WAS going to be our salvation, but then SH turned out to be an incomplete, unstable turd, the schedules slipped, TL was updated a few times because eBay had no choice other than to leave sellers completely hanging out to dry, and it's all in limbo as far as I know.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if eBay pulled the plug without notice because there were announcements that TL was going to be pulled, hand waving dismisses the "until SH has the same functions", third part paid solution are available (isn't eBay's money), and at the end of the day it's all about damage control.

If I get some round tuits I need to start looking into kludges or workarounds to retrieve/export my data from TL when eBay connectivity disappears to be able to reconstruct listings if needed (meaning to get around to it for a couple of years now and keep procrastinating)

Haven't explored that aspect, looked hard at the TL databases, or checked any TL export options much. My understanding is that the TL databases are encrypted with a proprietary system and not accessible with a current TL version - so no just writing a script or using a general db software to extract data isn't happening. It can export a CSV dump of completed listings, which is fine, but the photos are in a separate db and don't get exported. I think. Need to work on that.

Be nice if eBay or a third party came up with a wrapper, simple application, etc to do that - dump the TL DB's in a usable format (just something copy/pastable or FE compatible with the photos extracted and linked to the data somehow.)

Followup:

Played with Turbo Lister and found that it does indeed dump everything? in the listings to a CSV export, including links to the listing photos on your local hard disk.

(assuming you opted to store the photos - IIRC there an option to not do so to save disk space?)

Anywho, I exported 6000+ completed listings, and templates and inventory in Turbo Lister CSV format with almost all the fields (215 columns) included, using the TL menu option "Export Selected" into about 75MB of CSV and HTML file dumps.

The CSVs link to 10GB of stored photos, and folders with the 1000's of descriptions stored as individual HTML files, and it looks like all the info is there to be able to manually reconstruct any given listing. (what maybe missing is the legend to decode cryptic info like the list of excluded countries in one of the fields, and a few others)

Unfortunately, it will not export active listings. Not sure why. Might be a workaround like adding all the actives to inventory which will export. May play with that later, but not a huge deal (those actives will be completeds within 30 days, thus exportable, and so on).

As far as being able to point some sort of GUI at those dumps to make relisting something from them easy button, I dunno. Pretty sure the data could be massaged into File Exchange compatible format, but the photos would have to be picked out of the local file structure and uploaded to the web somewhere for FE to be able to access them as I understand it. A few scripts could probably handle that.

In any case, that's one less worry - my years of stuff in TL will still be accessible after eBay pulls the plug if I want to relist or refer to something in there. Just going to take a bit of cutting and pasting to make it happen. (Or a rudimentary script).

What email?  Would you post the body of the Email here so we can all see it.  I too still use TL and I have not received an email saying they have set a time to shut it down.  So please share.

Originally they were going to turn it off I think it was the summer of 2017.  As we all know that didn't happen.  They were going to turn it off once they had similar functions in the Seller Hub.  To date that hasn't happened and I personally haven't heard anything on the subject in a very long time.

In fact it wasn't but a couple months ago that Ebay sent me a survey regarding TL.  They asked question on how I used it, if I used it, for how long, did I find it useful, would I be willing to pay a small monthly fee to use it, etc.
