What is the best course of action in getting a neutral feedback removed?

I'm a TRS selling custom guitar parts. I have 100% pos FB, and pride myself on outstanding customer service and expertise in the field. I'm offering a lot of stuff nobody else is, and business is slowly but steadily getting better and better. The items I sell are very brand/model/year specific, not a lot of cross compatibility in this market. I spend an inordinate amount of time helping customers figure out exactly what they need, and luckily I really enjoy that part of the job. I appreciate it when someone uses due diligence and asks questions. A lot of the time, though, customers just don't read any of the details at all, they just look at a picture and assume the part will fit their guitar. So I get a fair amount of returns. I understand that and have learned how to deal with it. I'm sort of obsessive about my feedback rating; more so than I probably need to be. I know a neutral feedback doesn't hurt my score, but I hate looking at it. I feel like if it were actually something I deserved, it would be easier for me to internalize. The thing that drives me bananas is when I get a neutral feedback like this- it basically just says "I hope it fits." I send the guy a couple messages telling him if it doesn't fit he can certainly return it and we can find one that does or I can refund him, and he doesn't respond. I try calling the phone number he has on file and it's disconnected, and I look at his "feedback left for others" and it's rife with negs and neutrals not unlike the one he left for me.

I know some of you are going to tell me to let it go, that it really doesn't matter, and I know you're right, but like I said before, I hate looking at it and I want it removed.

You absolutely CAN do something to get FB removed.  I've had NEUTS removed by using this link & NEGS too.  In fact, almost all that I've submitted have been removed, usually in under 5 minutes.   I would say something like reviewing the item not the tx, plus they are reviewing something that hasn't even happened yet.

I find this link to be the best course of action, as it's quick, easy & you don't have to use any dubious SM sites.   IDK that that one will qualify, but worth a try, all you have to lose is 2 minutes of your time.

You cannot do anything to get a neutral feedback removed.
Your response shows that you really do know what you are selling, and that your listing was very clear about the specific product.  There was just the tiniest bit of snark, but I understand how sharp it stings to get your first neutral.

One nice thing about feedback is that the percentage shown is "xxx% Positive Feedback."
If I were in the market for a pickguard, and see you have 100% positive feedback, I wouldn't even bother to check your specific feedback comments.  (Honestly, I had no idea there was such variety in these products!)

If I did take a look at all your feedback, however, I would see two important things:  (1) the majority of your feedback received as a seller sings your praises on your pricing and speedy shipping, and a version of this one:  "Great guy, knowledgeable and perfect communication!"  You cannot buy that kind of customer satisfaction with money.  And (2) your response to the neutral feedback left by Only One Buyer shows that you offered to help him and he wasn't interested.  In My Opinion, any honest eBay buyer who looks at your listings and knows what he needs or wants -- and then also looks at your feedback -- should have no hesitation to buy from you.

There is nothing you can do about a neutral feedback but let it sit for a year and let it drop off.

To answer your question, I'd be very surprised if eBay would remove it, even if you asked.  I can't see that it violates any feedback rules. It's just kind of silly.

It's a neutral.  Doesn't affect your feedback percentage.  Anyone who bothers to look at it will see that one neutral as pretty much meaningless and that your feedback is stellar.  So just forget it.

Feedback is just  a buyer's or seller's opinion.  Neural FB is no big deal - the buyer didn't rip you a big one.  Your % is still 100%  over the last rolling year time period.  BTW I never receive all perfect grades from K to 12, 4.5 years earning a  **bleep** degree in Engineering with a  BA minor and 1.5 pursuing a an MBA - never ran into any that did. - I'm OK with that.

I doubt eBay would remove this.  A good response to the neut is an opportunity to show off your customer service skills to future buyers, so it actually serves a good purpose.

We did have a Neutral feedback removed recently through the automated process, though I wouldn't hold my breath on any particular comment.  You can try it, from the Help and Contact link at the top of the main page.  Just don't be surprised if they decline to remove it (you're asking eBay though, not the customer, to remove it).  You can send a revision request to the customer, but in a case like that it's not worth it at all, as they genuinely weren't going to work with you on the item itself, so they certainly won't help you with a neutral feedback that they themselves left.

If that is the case, then prepare to hate looking at it for the rest of your eBay career.

@garygsguitars  Glad to hear it worked & it was removed!

@monroe67   It is incorrect to tell people there's nothing they can do to have NEUTs removed.  There absolutely is.  The OP followed my instructions & was able to get it removed.  I've also had several removed using this method.  Just an FYI for you.   It DOES need to be removeable of course & also within 90 days.  The only one I've had not removed was older than 90 days.

OK, please return to tell us WHY Ebay removed it. 99.999% of the time the ONLY way feedback can be removed is if the person wrote vulgar comment or talked about a return process. Did your neutral have anything to do with either of those scenarios ?
