I listed it as possibly being silver, it's up to $45. I didn't expect it to bring maybe $15.
It has 14 watchers!
I've listed a lot of silver in the past, including some pretty rare stuff, and nothing has ever garnered attention like this.

Don't know, exactly. Snuff boxes are quite collectible, I suspect bidders know something more than you and I... where it was made, how long ago it was made, possibly who made it, etc. I don't know anything about snuff boxes or your particular item (if it's even a snuff box), but that's the beauty of auctions, you don't have to know (although obviously it may do even better if you knew those keywords that are in those bidders' heads!).
It actually looks to have quite a bit of wear, and it doesn't show wear like a piece of silver plate, I think it's solid silver. Obviously, with it's size and the current bid, it's worth a lot more than scrap silver anyhow. You've got at least 3 serious bidders already, good luck!

LOL, who knows @quadcitypickers. Maybe some blogger out there suggested something similar would be a great baby/shower gift or box to hold baby's first tooth? 😉 You never know. Bet you're glad now you put it up on auction instead of fixed price! 😉
There's another similar one also listed right now on ebay.com for only $5.99 and another one on the ebay.uk site that has been listed a couple of times but hasn't sold: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263770041827?ViewItem=&item=263770041827
The ebay.uk one indicates it's silver plated. My guess is that yours may well be, too.

The unsold one... that's about $20 with over $30 shipping... the curse of a high start price + GSP expense = no sale.

Now there are more watchers.. we could all join in if you want heaps more.
But the shipping cost is crazy at US $26.29, +10% tax added to item plus shipping cost.
So, don't count on this watcher bidding.. @quadcitypickers
I'm watching it to worry some bidder that is hot for it.... let 'em sweat.
Does kinda highlight the relevancy of watcher numbers.

Looks like it has a loop to attache to a chatelaine, that alone would make it more valuable.
I would edit/add the word chatelaine if it is the right size and has the loop to attache to a chain.
Check out chatelaines, I have sold some very nice ones (parts and sets) over the years and they do very well.
Edit, doesn't need to be silver to do well. Which it might not be.

Your listing violates eBay's "keyword spamming" policy:
If you're not sure it's silver, you're not allowed to use the word "silver".

OP, your listing is a snad waiting to happen.
It is possible someone overlooked the question mark, and thinks it is silver.

It's beautiful! I added you to my watch list...can't wait to see what you get for it. Good luck!

heh, it happens!
I had a WW2 victory bonds milk bottle cap up on auction, started it out at $5. I figured it would go for maybe $20-$25. It wound up at over $130 - two WW2 ephemera collectors battled it out to the end.
