What is really going on???

I have been selling on eBay for a while since 2004 things were not great then, I just came back recently and things are worst than ever! I have “bent over backwards” to make people happy, including and not limited to refunding and not even requiring returns on items not worth paying for a return label on. I still receive negative feedback, I have had so many scammers, none payers, and just negative feedback experiences, it seems like eBay has just thrown us Sellers “to the wolves” am I the only one? Where’s the Seller protection? Why are we the ones taking so many hits, sacrifices, and losing money?? Why is it that only our reputations are taking a hit? Where’s eBay? Why are their hands so tied Especially when it’s clear that some people are just never happy no matter what? I am ready to throw this 18 year account away and sell somewhere else. I follow all policy and procedures and still they allow this nonsense… Am I alone?

I only see one negative FB and the comment has been removed. If you dealt with the situation without eBay having to step in I would be appealing to get the red dot removed.

I tried, they only removed the buyers comment which said “send me a prepaid label, I’ll send it back” they only removed her comment. It was not worth me paying $7.60 to send a label for the return of an item for $8. The response I got from eBay was they removed her comment not the rating, something about it was against policy. I literally refunded this lady within 15 minutes of her admitting to me very rudely that she accidentally bought the wrong size item. She left that feedback after I fully refunded her money and told her not to worry about the return. I’m just left scratching my head… I try to go above and beyond but they let buyers just leave inaccurate feedback. Should I call them? This is the third time, yes the rest have been revised by the buyers but this one is just not going to revise hers, I have read what she’s left for others… now I’m getting messages from other buyers questioning my feedback. I’m just at a loss here.

You might consider adding buyer pay returns. If you have buyer pay returns there is a seller protection that lets you delete feedback once a case is resolved. I'm guessing they could delete the comment for you but not the actual feedback because you don't have returns enabled.

If you are a top rated seller and put buyer pays returns you also can take off 50% of the refund If a return is sent back to you damaged. And if they do a false INAD You can get a credit for $6 towards the return shipping label.

Some people lie about the reason of the return if they have to in order to force a return (because you have no returns) but they will actually be honest about it being a remorse return if you have buyer pays returns. Then they have to pay for the return shipping and if you charged shipping initially you can deduct that from the refund.

Apparently the industry standard for failed transactions is one percent.

You seem to have had one failed transaction in some 175, much better than average.

Not every transaction will go perfectly.

It's business, not personal.
