I have a silk scarf listed and eBay is recommending that I include type on item specifics. I’m not sure what they mean by type. One suggestion is keychain but I’m not sure how this applies to a silk scarf.
I already have color, size, theme, pattern and department selected but I’m confused by type.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks

What's funny (and by funny I mean sad) is that the Type IS for women's scarves used to have the types I mentioned above and more in the drop-down. This recent IS change removed all those selections and replaced them with keychain. And type is now "soon to be required" in that category. Way to go, eBay! Five stars!

Yeah the IS recommendations are really screwed up and they do have key chain as the only drop-down option for Women's scarves.
Enter a custom value like-
Rectangle Scarf
Square Scarf
Infinity Scarf
Cowl
Shawl
Handkerchief
etc

Item Specifics in clothing are an absolute mess. Ebay is adding a lot of nonsensical item specifics. At the same time, they are deleting item specifics that I have already entered. They Did this awhile back and we the sellers spent hours fixing their mess.

Skip the drop-down, add your own 'type' and press Enter. It'll stick. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I was clueless as what they meant by type.
When I saw keychain as the only option I was more confused! I didn’t know what keychain had to do with the scarf. I also have scarf in my title so I assumed The eBay bot would’ve caught that

Somewhat of a related topic, before ebay had “type” as an item specific for the categories, I always had “type” as a custom attribute for my multi variation listings. I used to use that term to specify women’s or men’s as a pulldown menu.
About over a year ago when ebay decided to adopt “type” as a specific, they suddenly deemed that I was unable to use that same word as an MV attribute. Chaos ensued as I was forced to either end all my hundreds of listings and fix that attribute’s name or else I was prohibited to revise the listing. It caused problems when I would have to change price or add quantity by restocking. I still have some active listings using that blacklisted word that I haven’t revised in over a year. Many of the listings I revised to say “gender” now. But it’s a lot of work.
I would’ve appreciated a heads up from eBay that they were going to do this to me as revising that field is not as easy as you think considering some of my listings have 200+ variations.
