I started selling again a couple months ago. My sales are horrible although I try to keep my items at a very low price. I know that i'm in a very competitive market selling bedding but by keeping my items low I thought that I would do much better? Shipping has taken a toll on me. I have lost money there. And had to charge more for shipping . Any help would be appreciated! So far with what I have sold I had a NPB and another buyer telling me that her sheet set did not have the pillow cases in the package. Although I know they were in the package I still refunded her money! Ebay is not the place that I remember?

eBay has been making lots of changes to the platform, which could be depressing your sales.

Great why would they hurt the small sellers? We used to be their bread and butter! All I find anymore when I search are the big giants out there and China!! I purchased a handbag last week that said the seller was in the US but when I received it I knew it was a peice of junk from China. Ugh!!

did you check out your competition?
Your shipping cost caught my attention, could you do better?
USPS priority fixed rate box may be cheaper, and it includes insurance too.

eBay is all about competing with Amazon now, though DW will deny it. The site is being modified, and will continue to be in the future, in order to cater to big box and Chinese sellers. eBay has gone way, way out of it's way to accommodate the Chinese sellers in hopes of getting the Chinese government to allow eBay to sell to China, which has not happened yet. I the mean time, sellers in the US get stuck in a race to the bottom against junk.

Yes I did check that out. I am using large fixed rate boxes now. But they are costing me anywhere from $17.00 to $19.00 to ship, and with Ebays fee's? Well I'm not doing very well. I have tried everything. Like listing higher with free shipping etc. Didn't help any!! I still lost money.

I checked your listings and they have no measurements. Buyer will most likely just pass on by your listings if you don't have measurements. Sorry.
The first one I saw was sheets in the package. The picture had glare and was blurry so I could not read the measurements that are on the package, but not in your description.
I used the shipping calculator and it seems that the shipping did not change from zip code far away from each other.
Just a few observations.

Actually for the number of items you have listed, the fact you are using only actions for common household items, and you are immediately relisting items that did not sell - your sales are fairly good for today's ebay marketplace. It may be your expectations that are the problem.

You are selling a commodity in a very competitive market, and every listing I see on this account is an auction.
Do you think buyers looking for bedsheets really want to bid and then wait a week to see if they have won an item they can buy at fixed price from any number of eBay sellers, or any big box store?
I searched for "room essentials" and found 3450 listings. Less than 75 of those were auctions. The first page of results was full of listings by Target.

I know the lady was pretty testy so I just gave her money back. She probley would not have sent the pillow cases back anyway? And I can see where Ebay thinks the customer is always right these days! And that was one of my better sales! I lost almost $50.00 plus the loss of the sheets 😞

I have thirteen buy-it-now's. Ebay used to be an auction site!
