What happened to "Your item has sold" in the ebay emails?

First they took away the icon in front of  "Sale Confirmed" : (Item) in the emails you get, for many years.

Then changed it to "Your item has sold" around 2/25/21

Now 3 months later they changed it again to  "Here's a shipping label for your sold item" (changed on 6/1/21) and removed "Your item has sold".

Why do they keep changing it?!?!?  For years when I opened my ebay emails I loved that little money icon saying I'd sold something. When they took that away, well ok, now that it's "Your item has sold" I can still mark it as unread so I can see it. Now just "HERE'S A SHIPPING LABEL ....." ?

I understand them changing things like managed payments and big stuff, but they just keep changing EVERY LITTLE THING  unnecessarily that makes no sense at all.  It's like there are 100 bosses that run the show at ebay and they can't make their minds up and fight about it. I'm sure this will be changed in a few months.

Anybody else have a problem with this "small change" or is it just me?

What happened to "Your item has sold" in the ebay emails?

what i posted above is what I get currently (those were from early today - well actually yesterday now lol) - doesn't surprise me really, it's either ebay is glitching again or the changes haven't rolled out to everyone yet (like other things)

the sold and shipping label receipt emails you get actually changed like idk almost a year ago. The emails configuration is what they changed, notice the added photo to the emails of the item, prior the emails were purely text, no images (aside from ebay logo) - but when they changed the receipt email it messed up the system (for me) and didn't send me email receipts for postage purchased on ebay for any media mail purchase for 4+ months - only now and then I would get one. There is still a glitch happening now, even after calling CS and complaining for months about them to fix it, but now I am getting 80% of the receipts instead of none or one out of every 15 or so.

Maybe we get different emails. I think you're talking about just the shipping label emails. "Your ebay label is ready" has been there a long time. The "Sale confirmed" ended 3 months ago, and "Your item has sold" ended 5 days ago, not a year ago.

There will always be changes, but it seems a lot of these changes are all happening at the same time. They used to change something, notify us, we'd read and learn about it and adjust. Now we have to read a book. Read many many pages to learn the new way, and just when we do, they make more changes.

They did change the title of the email recently for when you sold an item, now says "Your Item Has Sold..." and use to say "Sale Confirmed" and they changed the layout of the email also.

What happened to "Your item has sold" in the ebay emails?

I am in the same boat. I have procmail recipes setup to look for "your item has sold" and run actions on that e.mail. I get the shipping label one now only. I do not get an e.mail when I ship the item, even though I have all the checkboxes selected at https://commspreferences.ebay.com/commsprefs under the Selling Activity section.

Did they announce this change recently? Why are some people getting both the "your item has sold" and the "here's a shipping label" messages?

What happened to "Your item has sold" in the ebay emails?

Recently I've gotten both emails: "Your item has sold" and "Your eBay label is ready".  Although it wasn't true that the label was "ready" because I hadn't filled out the form for one yet.  So that was just another way of saying, "Your item has sold"!!!

All I can say is watch your emails so you don't miss any, if this assortment of messages is important to you.   Or just be sure to check your account for sales everyday.

Bottom line, eBay is not helping by being so discombobulated!

I received no announcement and when I go to your link, I have everything checked, but only receive a few on the list. Not anywhere near all of them.

@max-list

In yesteryear(seems like 1000 years ago) we would get an email for each except when emails were on the fritz but they would "eventually" show up. And you could file or delete them. Your choice but 2 emails just the same and be able to find them if you needed to.

On dot ca as of the past month or 2 with MP we get a combined email that an item is sold. If there is a delay in payment we get a secondary email saying the customer has paid.  Very easy to think a customer has paid when they haven't.  The other concern is if the buyer includes a note like...Hey, could you mark deliver to side door that awesome info showed up with the payment email. Now, no such luck. You have to spot on your Items Sold section of Sellers Hub. Very easy to miss.

The only thing consistent as of late with eBay is lack of consistency.

I can hear one of eBay's cheerleaders saying: "Why are you spending so much time and energy fussing about emails?  Just use Seller Hub and list more and sell more!"

I haven't bothered with eBay's emails for years now.  My application software picks up on what's happening on eBay, takes the appropriate action(s) if it's been asked to, and has everything waiting for me to do what humans do better than smartphones or laptops -- physical things.  Pulling inventory, packing it, printing a label, shipping it.  Automation is great at minding the minutia, tracking details I like to know (fees related to a sale, for example, including cost-of-goods) but don't want to have to fuss with manually.  Finding the right automation opens up your calendar like you might not realize.  I want my computer to work for me so I can spend more time with my wife, kids, or grandkids (the great-grand lives too far away right now).  So I invest a wee bit ($35 a month) for a desktop app that does all that for my current 3 selling accounts and has room for two more (5 IDs managed in total).  At my peak sales activity, my computer was returning several hours a day of time to me -- time I didn't have to spend on details and could spend on anything else I was interested in.  No nickel & dime fee for everything you do -- just one flat monthly fee and go do as much as you want within the limits imposed by whatever venues you use.

I spent 20+ years developing business software for SMBs -- using automation is second nature and very natural for me.  But that doesn't make it any less useful.  🙂

The funny thing is, the e.mail triggers the automation in my case and alerts the inventory picker. Yes, using eBay API might be better, but eBay doesn't give valid data via the API [the Final Value Fee, for example, is off by 30 cents when using the API, though sometimes more, sometimes less].

I love automation, but the source has to be dependable, and eBay does seem to be more discombobulated than dependable! 😮

I agree the "Here's a shipping label for your sold item" email is terrible. Please change it back!
