What does this mean: Limits question

OK I accept that I am below standards and EB has limited my free listings (I still don't get it).  But when I go look at the seller hub, this is what it shows as far as limits.  I don't understand how I can list 1783 and be limited to 1700.  I have about 3 auctions sold but not paid.  Does this mean those 3 auctions will be added to the $1700 limit?

EB is nutsy.

It means you are over your selling limit. eBay "may end any listings that you have created over your existing limit. "

Your monthly selling limits includes all items you have sold and currently have listed for the month.  Sold auction items for the month would be included.

As far as I know [think] it is advising you that from now on you have a limit of 85 items and a dollar limit of $1700 that can be listed per month.

The $1783.93 and 91 listed and sold is telling what  you have sold up to now, whether that is inclusive for this month I have no clue

This has never happened to me, so I do not know for sure, that is just how I am reading it. Hopefully someone who knows how the listing limits work will be along shortly

Let's pretend that your limit for this month was $1700 and 10 items.

On day 1 you list auction #1 with a starting bid of $1.

On day 2 you list auction #2 with a starting bid of $1.

On day 7 auction #1 ends with a high bid if $1783.

After day 7, you have exceeded your dollar limit for the month so eBay is not going to let you list any additional items.

But eBay is not going to cancel auction #1 after the fact just because you went over your limit, and they are not going to end auction #2 or prevent people from bidding it any higher. That would not be fair to you or the bidders and buyers involved.

Rather than being "nutsy", I think this is actually eBay using plain old common sense.

That seems logical, but the OP has only one sold auction that got more than one bid, and it ended in early November at $30.  So the extra $83 can't be pinned on an auction getting bid up.  Maybe it's from sales that were made before the limits were imposed.
