Is there a list somewhere that shows what eBay considers as profanity regarding feedback removal? Or if they bleep out a word here in the forums, does ebay consider it profanity?

I've got no clue... I could type a list of all the possibly bad words, and you could see what gets bleeped out? But sometimes they are bleeped out so much that one cannot see what the word actually was.
Some that they bleep out are words that are not really that bad, IMO, though. Truly not actual swear words, but maybe would offend some? I'm 100% sure there is a secret list stored somewhere in the system!

If Beaver Cleaver would get his mouth washed out with soap for saying it - so will you.

eBay's list is way longer than George Carlin's or June Cleaver's. Or Lithium's. Mostly because the bots that look for naughty words in feedback have been instructed to ignore spaces and punctuation.
So they will block innocent phrases such as "the pen is great", or "I wish it was..." or the word "who" followed by any word beginning with "re-". A few weeks ago we were stumped by a member who couldn't write that something was a 'bargain basement price" until his wife pointed out that the word basement includes a homonym for seaman.

I haven't seen a list myself but it just seems the bots are in control of all of that . I was scolded for using the term '' cute rabbit charms '' in a feedback once and told I couldn't use profanity like that . Here in the forum a bleep was put in place of the word '' da#n'' even though that terrible word was used in an old movie when Rhett Butler walked out on Scarlette O Hara . Seems they're raising the bar . Tulips

The "bleeped" words here have no direct connection to words that might be excluded in feedback. They're systems run by two different companies.

Don't forget the 40s racial slurs that have several different meanings and are part of other words today and the slur has been forgotten. I still remember the time that sellers had problems listing Nippon china.

You have to remember, it's not just profanity. It's two words that have letters that could make a possibly bad word. The bots search for any way we could be hiding something.

No, there is no such list. Any adult should know what profanity words are.

We thought we did, until we encountered eBay's word-search-based feedback system.

When Lithium first took over the discussion boards, Jeff Terrell had to arrange special dispensation for us to use the accepted acronym for New In Package because it was on Lithium's list of prohibited slurs.
