I wan to also add my impressions started dropping from yesterday, and today are just as bad as what you are showing. I even ended my promotions and promoted listings earlier. I lowered the promotions percentage a bit, but then increased the living lights out of my promoted listings to see if that would do anything and its not. Look at how much I've sold today compared to other days.
We sell auto parts and I understand its Labor Day weekend as we've been doing this for 16 years, holiday weekends usually start off strong and then die down later on the weekend.

Thanks @blacktopautoparts . I appreciate you confirming you are seeing this too.
I wish I had something helpful to suggest, but if what @go-bad-chicken posted is what is causing this, I don't know what we can do about it except hope that eBay either fixes it if it is a glitch or reverses course if this is an intended change or test.
Longer term we may be able to tweak listings to try to improve things, but as far as trying to rescue holiday weekend sales, I think that's going to be in eBay's hands unfortunately.

tyler@ebay can you confirm if eBay is testing changes to Promoted Listings that may be causing these drops in impressions?

You're welcome! I've been trying to rack my brain all day to figure out what might be wrong and good thing I stumbled upon your posts. I noticed my impressions being down. It is sad that they continue to screw around with things on the backend making the selling experience worse.
I'll have to read over what go-bad-chicken wrote and see if I can figure out a solution. This is quite crazy. I even had promoted listings turned off for a short period of time today, that didn't seem to do anything.

Look to make sure your promoted listings are even being displayed. Today I could not find any of mine and it ended up being adblock plus and noscript causing them to not be displayed. Any buyer running an ad blocker might not even be seeing your listings if they are promoted. I had to end every last promotion I had just for my listings to show up SOMEWHERE in the results.

I have been testing items in search throughout the day in a different browser that is not even logged into ebay. I am noticing items I search for showing at the top of the page, but for sure I am not seeing "Sponsored Listings" header till the middle of the page. The crazy part is that their upper management just can't leave enough alone and have to keep tinkering with the site that is screwing things up.
My sales started dropping right the first week of June after changes were made to the search algorithm. No matter how much I have tested, just can't pin point what they changed. I might have an idea of what could help, but I need to try something with the item specifics that I think eBay might be using to pull in some data.
Like you, earlier this afternoon I had ended my promoted listings and had them ended for a good while before restarting them. It didn't generate any sales at all. I am not sure at this point what it is. I am happy to hear that it has semi-helped get your listings to appear.

I'm still seeing the sponsored listings as usual - not the view that @go-bad-chicken is showing, so either I snuck under the tent or this is an uneven rollout/glitch/feature/bodge.

I am curious behind the how and the why behind this change.
What are you using to view eBay? Is it a PC, Mac, or mobile device?
And what categories are the listings in that you are viewing? If you do not mind sharing that information.
I have sneaking suspicion that this may be a limited test on eBay's part.

So it looks like multiple of us in Motors experiencing this, as well as fly rods? Not sure the exact category for those.
And it seems to not be hitting all categories...
Hmm... Not sure if this means it's intended or not...

Considering our promoted impressions dropped to probably 1/6 or 1/8 of the usual, and total impressions are 40% of prior (including organic) I'm not sure how limited it might be.
Just hoping this isn't permanent, or things settle to be a bit better. Because this has just lost a huge amount of impressions for us, it seems.

I really hope this one gets an official response.
Such a huge drop in impressions should at least have an explanation, as it has a large effect on businesses.
And I hope it's not just the usual "We can't give any information about how search works"... Because impressions dropping to 40% of the prior impressions is pretty hurtful to sellers.

I checked in both fashion and computer peripherals - two areas where I sell the most. I did so on a desktop.
ETA: I don't doubt for a moment that something is going on here - I just haven't seen it, which is why I counseled watching for a few days to see where views went before @go-bad-chicken 's mention and screen shots. I checked on two different accounts. Some new fresh he!! just popped out of the oven? I also sell on Etsy (well, I use them for cheap server space) and they are constantly changing things with no warning at all, generally using sellers as guinea pigs in various test batches. I wonder if this is what is going on.

Another thought that I have behind some of this, is that are you guys that are affected switched over the managed payments yet? We signed up back in July by the deadline, we were supposed to switch over but nothing has happened yet. I am wondering if this has also anything to do with our listings being suppressed this much. I have run out of ideas here and I bet they have done some programming changes that have affected Motors since both you and I Zamo have had several similar situations over the years.

@blacktopautoparts we have been in Managed Payments since August 7th.

@valueaddedresourcethere goes that theory. LOL! I really hope they get this figured out by next week, with each passing day the loss of revenue is not cool.
