I recently purchased a portable DVD player from a yard sale. It came in the original box with all original accessories. I opened the box and found that the DVD player and all of the accessories had been placed in the carry pouch it came with. The DVD player still had the insert on the inside of the insert area for DVDs that you have to remove before playing any DVDs in it. It also stilll had the plastic film over the screen. I noticed no use wear at all on the player and it looks brand new and never used to me. I want to test the DVD player just to make sure everything works but at the same time if I remove the insert would that mean I couldn't list it as "New other"? It would technically be used at that point right? But I also don't know for sure what the actual used condition of it is. I am merely going by what I see on the DVD player and it has everything a brand new one would. Do I test it and explain the condition I bought it in?

yes,you should test it and state it comes sealed but you remove for testing.
if it does not work, buyer will file INAD and you pay return shipping

As it stands now: New-Other.
If you test it: Seller Refurbished or Used, pretty much a toss-up.
