What causes an item not to "index"

What causes an item not to "index"? I have a Rhinestone brooch about half way through a 10 day auction and it has zero views, not even the onesie twosies that generally appear as soon as an item is listed. Does this mean it is invisible in search? Also, when another key word is added after a listing goes live, does the system "re-index" so that the new word is searchable? I noticed the zero views/zero watchers two days ago and that I hadn't used the word brooch (just pin), so added the extra word but I still sit at 0/0. (Just as an FYI, when I don't know if I have a something or a nothing I use auction format for the first listing; the vast majority of my listings are BIN).

It shows up in a search, but so do 900 others.

rhinestone brooch domed finds your item #124353929234 around position 50 out of  892 under best match.

rhinestone dangle brooch finds your item #124351346832 around position 40 out of  669 under best match.

rhinestone brooch bar purple finds your item #124350206428 around position 30 out of  40 under best match.

When searching by lowest price your items are pretty far down the list.

IMHO your problem has nothing to do with "not indexing".
