What are your Goals and Plans for January 2022?

New Year's Day is all about setting Resolutions - things we want to change or improve about ourselves or our situation in life.  So... what are your plans and goals for January 2022, in particular, and for the year 2022 in general?  Are you moving on/out?  Planning to expand?  Staying the course or plotting a new route?

So let us know what your thoughts are, and then please come back a few times after that to share how well you've been doing or what's had to change to accommodate the reality that change is a part of life.

Was surprised I sold 2, so 9/15.  Gathering items to take pictures.  Trying to list different items.  Some low dollar items.  No dinnerware this time.  Testing the waters on some items.

It seems everybody around us has had Cov-id.  My husband's best friend had it, he was sick for about 5 days with flu-like symptons (vaxed and boosted), but his wife did not get it (she is a cancer survivor).  My step-daughter was really sick for more than 2 weeks, but yet my grandaughter just had mild symptons.  Neither are vaccinated.  We pretty much are hermits, don't want the risk.   Hubby and I have underlying conditions.  Plus hubby has a heart abilation surgery Feb 8th, just trying to be careful.

Everybody have a good rest of the week.

2022 is very exciting for me, I recently retired early from my full time job that I had been at for 41 years to pursue my ebay and other dreams.

Congratulations!  I've had similar plans for the last 10-15 years, pretty much since my cushy IT desk job ended and I had to actually do physical work.  🙂  Been building my stash/hoard/money-mountain (I like that one!) for the last 10 years at least.  Starting to work as getting some of the bigger stuff gone, with mixed results.

So again I say Congratulations!  I've got at least 3.5 more years before I can draw full SSI, maybe longer if I can get back into IT now that everyone is going remote.  I've got plenty of remote capability!!  🙂

What are your Goals and Plans for January 2022?

I'm at 11 eBay sales (two from my PC stash!!) and 4 PCs sold on FBMP.  Which is probably the best numbers I've had since Oct/Nov.  At least it feels that way!

We survived Winter Store Izzy, which is now headed to the NorthEast.  Got a lot of rain, then freezing rain, then snow, then cold temps, then a wee bit of sunshine, and now we're headed to the deepfreeze thru the end of the week.  Highs in the low 30's to low 40's is just plain cold.  I'm not looking forward to getting into the truck each morning, sitting my tuckus down on that cold leather seat (the seat heaters work, but take a bit), and then having to wait until the defrosters can clear the front & back windows from breath-frost.  Lunch will be interest too - same cold seat, but then having to open the window for the drive-thru!!  Most of the fast food places still have not re-opened their dining rooms -- not enough staff to keep things clean.  Some days they barely have enough staff to man the drive-thru.  Except Chik-Fil-A -- they have got drive-thru down to a science, and it works!!

Keep warm y'all!! And try to keep busy...I'm told it makes the day go faster, but I think all it really does it make you fall asleep sooner & faster!

Sold a couple of more.  A set of Christmas dessert plates and some china pieces.   Now at 11/20.  No sales over the weekend.  I did get some new listings up this weekend.  Finally!  Today will pack what I have and add a few more new listings.  Then start the cycle all over again.

We were lucky we missed the snow.  Just light flurries here and there.  We have not had any real snow all winter.  We live in Indiana.

A few weeks ago, hubby went to the local Taco Bell and it was closed.  This was at 5:00.  Drive-thru wasn't open.  Hubby saw somebody going in and she said they didn't have enough help so it wouldn't be open for a while.  I now noticed it is temporarily closed.  So settled for Arby's.  Places have shortened hours since there is a shortage of workers and I don't think dining rooms have been open for fast food restaurants.

I have been wondering if hubby will have his heart procedure done as scheduled.  It is February 8th.  In Indy at the heart hospital, so being a specialty hospital, we may be ok.  Today he went for blood work.

Happy selling this week!

What are your Goals and Plans for January 2022?

My goals are just to continue selling on ebay, as I have done for many years, stay healthy and to see the Kansas City Chiefs win the Superbowl again.  I keep it simple.

What are your Goals and Plans for January 2022?

I have 40 sales this month in spite of winter storms.

I have 5 waiting for me to ship when time away ends - I am guessing that Wednesday will be the first day we really will have no ice or snow.

Funny DRSK and I found the same facebook group to help deal with the death pile....eerr  maxi-global empire I have.  Lots of encouragement (not saying ya'll aren't helpful) from people as bad as or worse than me.

I am so ready for spring....

What are your Goals and Plans for January 2022?

Things are all good down here in FL.   Lovely weather.   Holding our own health wise.   New family member Billi the Australian Shepard mix is a joy and delight.  She is my buddy when I run errands and go for drives.  She rides "shot gun" and loves it.   My three previous dogs were not as good.....all three of them wanted to be in my lap and help drive.

December sales were good.   I even had three sales on Christmas Eve which for me is unheard of.   My buyers never buy stuff that day.   Now if I make sales on Super Bowl Sunday then I will proclaim that times are really changing.   Those two days are the ones that my stuff rarely if ever sell.

This month has been steady.....just OK sales wise.   Of course I missed two weekends YS shopping because of the holidays.    And then the COVID spike has put a damper on the number of sales.   I did hit a nice sale this past weekend and loaded up with a lot of small $10-$30 items.

Still gonna make my out in the Gulf overnight adventure on the charter fishing boat soon.   Now just waiting for a night with calm weather and no turbulence.  We get several of those this time of year so I should be getting the call soon.   Hope it is not a YS shopping day.

I had cataract surgery a couple of months back.  It went well but my sight did not improve because the eye was pretty much shot due to a previous necessary surgery.  So, I am still "one eyed Joe."   But the doctor who treats the eye to maintain what little vision I have left in the eye can get good photo images with the cataract gone.

Onward and upward....

Joe

I DON'T THINK I WILL MAKE MY GOAL. I HAVE 5/30.  IF I SELL ONE PER DAY I WILL MAKE TO 30

I HAVE BEEN LISTING EVERY DAY, BUT I STILL DO NOT THAT MUCH.

MY FRIEND HAVE NOT RESPONDED FOR  MONTHS.  I THINK SHE  CLOSED HER SHOP.

What are your Goals and Plans for January 2022?

Sold more, 14/20.  I went ahead and increased my goal.  Sold 1 of my newest listings.  I am testing the waters from my Dad's fishing lures.  I still need to do alot more research.  Going through the house collecting this and that to list.  I am thinking about opening another account and listing magazines.  I have a full large tote, plus several boxes.  Includes decorating magazines and entertainment weekly magazines.  I also have lots of greeting cards.   Still digging through the garage to see what else I have.  Gonna try and figure if it is worth the time.  I don't have many dollars invested.  Greeting cards were free and they cover the inspirational niche.  I worked for 2 greeting card companies.

Glad to hear from you Joe.  You always do well with your items.  Stay warm.  I see Florida may be getting some cold weather.  Sounds like your new buddy is settling in nicely.  Our rescue, Loyla, is like your previous dog, she wants to sit on your lap and she is 45 pounds.  Our previous dog laid in the back seat and loved to travel with us.  He was lab/golden mix, laid back.  Loyla is the opposite, high strung, anxious.  She is a mix of shepherd, border collie, beagle.   Barks at everything when traveling.  She was a handful when we first got her, but after 6 years she has really settled down.

postcard-good idea on the facebook group.  I seem to jump around from room to room, box to box, to get a mix of items to list.

Happy selling!
