New Year's Day is all about setting Resolutions - things we want to change or improve about ourselves or our situation in life. So... what are your plans and goals for January 2022, in particular, and for the year 2022 in general? Are you moving on/out? Planning to expand? Staying the course or plotting a new route?
So let us know what your thoughts are, and then please come back a few times after that to share how well you've been doing or what's had to change to accommodate the reality that change is a part of life.

Bob, you always have such clear goals. I am just a mess!
Karmy, good to hear from you. That is a LOT to keep track of. I can't even imagine ever getting that many listings up. Wow!
@divwido Sending good thoughts your way. Congrats on coming to the end of chemo. I know that's a battle itself.
@linus.hux72fe That sounds like a fun group you have! I bet it keeps you motivated!
@richard1rst, be careful. The mods are "power happy" and love to give out the pink slips. One of our long time posters got banned for no good reason other than being honest in a comment, which wasn't even directed at anyone in particular.
So, as usual, my goal is to get organized and sell at least 250 items this month. I really need to set up a plan for the organization, because I just never have enough time.
Our old friend Yme has a 250 selling goal for the month as well.

Just completed my 23rd year of
selling here. I've put my store on "time away" and will leave it there until April 1st. Will be attending a trade show in a couple weeks and then spending two months in the Florida sun doing nothing until winter is mostly over in New England.

I only have 'clear goals' due to years of having the same goals. 🙂
I'm starting to organize my personal listed inventory similar to what we use at work: Since most of my PC equipment is static-sensitive, I will bag each piece in anti-static bags, seal them, and then apply an inventory SKU label (SixBit offers one) so I can be sure I'm shipping the correct item. 🙂 That part was easy... the part I neglected was to update SixBit with the container I stuck each part into... and I've got 15-20 containers scattered & stacked around my room, so finding things can sometimes be a bit... uh... "challenging". Seems it's much easier to fill & stack those things than it is to move them, one by one, until you find the one you need.
Lesson learned.
Sold a few things since so far in January. Right now, eBay is outselling FBMP -- I get lots of "is this still available" or "I want it" messages on the PCs listed, but then no one shows up to actually make the purchase! FBMP has FAR more tire-kickers than eBay! Very Frustrating!!
So the big news is.... we both got Covid! Kicked in the week between Christmas & New Years, confirmed that Friday (New Years Eve), and we'll be out of quarantine and masked up for work by Thursday. We're both vaxed and boosted, so it's was basically a headcold for me and slightly less for my wife. Both have/had sore throats and gravely voices, and the lethargy!! I spent all day Thursday and most of Friday just sleeping on the couch - drifting in and out, and snoring up a storm (according to my wife!). Most of the kids got the same, youngest a few days before me, oldest has had sinus issues for a month, and their sister is even more unwilling to leave her house (so her soon-to-be-ex husband and son brought some home for her). The grands and their significant others almost all got it, with only the very youngest getting away without getting sick... or so we think (our oldest has the youngest grand and seldom goes to the doctor - long story).
It's been the strangest Christmas in years! I think next year we'll go back to the old-fashioned, everyone meets at Grandpa and Grandma's place for the day. There are some family traditions you just don't want to mess with...
Stay safe everyone!

Ended last month at 14/20, I have had better December's. Goal for January is 15. Sold 3 so far. It has been hard to get motivated to work on my store. I have been seriously thinking about closing my store. I just need to look at numbers closer. Most of the stuff I will be listing will be items from my parents (which I don't have any cost) mixed in with what I have (dinnerware and glassware). Just have to get motivated to take pictures and list. I seem to stay around 250 listings.
Bob-sorry you guys got Cov-id. Both hubby and I have been vaxed and boosted, so far so good. Trying not to get it before he has heart abilation February 8th. We are thinking it may end up being re-scheduled. We pretty much have been staying home with minimal visitors. Didn't see family over the holiday's (nobody is vaxed and refuses to be tested). Hubby talked to his best friend. He got Cov-id but his wife did not (both are vaxed and boosted). He was sick for 4 days with a bad cold.
I am still working on getting organized too. Ever since we had our yard sale, my office looks like a tornado hit it. I know I have more room, it is just going through each row of stuff. Goal is in a year pretty much have my EBay stuff cleared out and just selling here occasionally. There are some other interests I would like to pursue.
I saw where somebody sold some fishing lures and did well. I have over 50 to sell but need to do research, I know nothing about them. Like previous poster-just getting out of my comfort zone. I also have a ton of costume jewelry to sell, which will take time to research. My camera is not great at taking close-ups or maybe it is the photographer.
Everybody have a great week and stay safe!

We have just had 9 inches of snow. Temps to drop to single digits. Tomorrow a high of 20.
So I should be a listing machine...since I am not going anywhere until things thaw....but it's too easy to get distracted.
Sale scheduled for Thurs-Sat will now start on Saturday. Not sure after that.
Boss was supposed to fly in tomorrow but his flight was cancelled. The airline may reschedule him for later tomorrow. If so, he will have a difficult time getting to his rental. Best choice for him is to come in Saturday or Sunday.

I plan to survive to see February 2022.

Sales so far are at 7, but had to cancel an order due to my error, I shipped the wrong plates to someone else and they never let me know, so the plates I had left didn't match what I sold so refunded. So 6/15. Things are steady. I need to list. I did take some more pictures.
Postcard-we are getting the cold, but missed the snow here in Indiana. So far this year we have had just flurries.
Clay, congrats on your nice sale.
Welcome back Karmy!
Pretty much staying home. Everybody stay safe and happy listing and selling!

I CANCELLED 1 SALES. SO I SALES 3/30.
SO I AM BEHINED 6 SALES. I DID NOT SALE ANYTHING FOR THE LAST 2 DAYS.
I TRIED GIVEN BIGGER DISCOUNT OFFERS. I POSTED $27 LISTING MARKING DOWN FROM $37.
IT DID NOT WORK. I TRIED $5.95 MARKING DOWN FROM $7.50. SO MY PLAN WAS TO SELL 30 ITEMS
THIS MONTH. IT DID NOT WORK. I ALSO LISTED SOME ITEMS FOR LISTING WITH "DRINK COASTERS"
WITH PERSONALIZED.

One sale Friday, a best offer. So just at 7/15. A very slow weekend. I did get a few new listings done. Hope to do a few today. Then start the same cycle, but will be looking for things other than dinnerware.
Everybody have a great week and happy selling!

Keep my sales under that dreaded new $600 threshold for 2022.
Other than that...TRY and I mean really really TRY this year to get some of my stock down and under control this year because I have a lot of stock to post.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooommmmmMMMMMM past that 600 bucks lickety split.

PS...that was for all of 2022. I misread that. I didn't see it was just for Jan.

January is the first step to the rest of 2022.
I've picked up a couple more sales, one was even over $10 net!! 🙂 Got a couple of systems from work sold - actually got FBMP buyers who showed up!! But when I got back to work, they had 'cleaned up' and now I have no place to set up each system config we're selling (single monitor/dual monitor) so that I can get Windows updated and properly configured before the buyer picks it up! We're talking about a small table and chair, with a power strip for the three electrical cords in use. But... it was an empty, flat surface... and those don't stay that way long in the warehouse. You should see the floor... someday, maybe we will!! 🙂
Mostly taking it easy - still running a bit tired, but there are a number of reasons that could be causing that, and it's getting better, just slowly. Do NOT care for the cold weather!! I thought I had left that up in MN!! Memphis is supposed to be wet & dreary all 'winter', not cold, icy, and frigid! Harumph!!
I did get some more PC parts listed, and a few more elongates. Going to have to really put in some effort if I want to use all my 250 listings this month... I've got most of my elongate stock tied up in Fixed Price listings, but only for 29 days. Once I get to 500 units, I can post 250 the last week of one month and 250 the first week of the next and have 500 listings for most of that second month!! Just trying a few options to change things up a bit - already have a bid on one of the newly posted elongates, but that's true with almost every batch of "new" inventory I post. That's why I post them as auctions ... when a rare one comes up, the bidding is fun to watch! 🙂

Right now I am working on getting a video on my eBay store page. I'm about 1/2 way done. Should only be a few more days.

How come now every single time I come back to this thread, I have to scroll through to see what I've read? For years, it would always take me to the last post I read? It seems this is a step backwards.
Bob, auctions with multiple bids are fun, although not nearly as frequent as in the old ebay days.
My husband always says we can't have a flat surface for over a day because I take it over, so I can see how that happened at work.
My husband just went back to work today after picking up Covid at his job. We're vaccinated and he still got it, but seems it was more like a cold with one day feeling flu-like with aches and chills.
So far, everyone else in the house is still in the clear!
Debbie, I did the same where I had a sale the other day and it seems I shipped the wrong this to a previous buyer and she never said anything. The one she received was more valuable, so it figures. So I didn't have the right one to ship when it sold. She had also purchased a second item to match and wanted to cancel that as well, so I lost two sales at once.
I have to say, for January, sales seem slow, and I hate the ebay red "sales are 35% lower than this time last month" message. Thanks ebay. I am aware.
I found a group on FB about tackling the death piles, or money mountains. I am hoping I find some motivation there. I need to get more listed.
