I have a buyer that started messaging me with questions this morning regarding one of my products.
I've answered all their questions, but this last question was asking me where I was located.
I just thought maybe they were checking to see if they were in the same area.
I also decided to check their feedback.
They've received a total of 163 feedbacks as a buyer since joining in 2009, but have only left a total of 25 feedback.
Out of that 25, 2 are neutrals and 16 are negatives.
I'm seriously thinking about adding to my BB list to avoid a problem.
Lots of questions and don't mind leaving negatives.
What are your thoughts?

In the end, go with your gut feeling. When I've ignored mine, I've always regretted it.

Why not? You wouldn't block a buyer who has left 16 negatives for sellers?
Nope...for 3 reasons.
1.) I NEVER check feedback of a buyer- they buy, I build & ship.
2.) I do what I say and send what I sell so I have no reason to worry.
3.) If a 'bad' experience is had, buyers are more apt to leave 'bad feedback' 10x more than positive. MANY don't even bother UNLESS it's bad.
But..like I stated, MANY sell from Texas yet ship from Taiwan- it's a problem that happens in WAY MORE places than just ebay (sites advertising on email, insta, fb, amazon sellers et.)
Funny you should bring that up.
I also NEVER look at a buyers feedback.
But for some strange reason (I don't even know why) I looked at a buyers feedback a few weeks ago.
He left tons of negatives.
I still went through with the sale, just made sure everything was correct, packed well and shipped quickly.
About a week after he received the item . . . he bought another one! LOL
He did not leave any feedback for me (good or bad) yet.
Fingers crossed.

I don't usually look at FB, either - since I'm immediate payment required there's no reason to.
But if someone is asking a lot of odd questions, I will.

I had someone ask me tons of questions and literally admit "I'm super picky" ... they accepted a discount offer, didnt pay, and proceeded to ask a million questions about "No returns" ....... in all, there was some back and forth for about an hour (on/off) ...they probably sent me 5-7 messages?
I quote: "I see you have a no returns policy, but what if I'm not pleased...?"
After that last gem of a question I ended up telling the buyer "ask me to cancel your purchase, and go buy elsewhere"

16 negative feedbacks as a buyer. LOL
Yup, this buyer is only happy when leaving negs - evident by the fact that they don't leave positives much/if at all.

MANY sellers state they are in Texas, when it's coming from China.
So, many buyers will ask..in which you can just state where your listing states you are at (since ALL listings show where a seller is located)
I would agree if it was ONLY about the "where are you located".
Asking me where I'm located is not a red flag for me. However, asking me what I would consider tons of questions usually leads me to check your FB because to see if I want to proceed with you or not. I ask myself if you're a waste of time or not. I have noticed it often seems those who ask tons of questions do so because they have experienced a history of lots of problems. Thats great, ask questions to avoid problems ... but if you're experiencing tons of problems, YOU may be the problem.
It's usually pretty easy to gauge if the questions are from an intelligent and knowledgeable person or not. I'm not trying to insult buyers regarding intelligence, but I like to avoid buyers who don't know what it is they're buying ... because those are the buyers who falsely claim the item is "wrong" because they don't know what they even bought ... and of course they are smarter than you and know more than you and of course the customer is always right.... I just had one of those today.
A seller has the right to block for any reason. If they feel it is in their best interest, they will do so. The buyer can buy from someone else, and the seller lost a potential buyer ... or a potential headache.

Just so you know...for your information...don't get mad.
There is People's Republic of China(China) and Republic of China(Taiwan).
Most of items are coming from China and not Taiwan.
Just a little geography lesson.

I don't usually look at feedback either. I'm immediate payment.
I guess after all the questions I did for some reason this time.
Most of the follow ups on the negatives were, should have contacted before leaving feedback. We would make it right for you.
That just told me they leave feedback first without contacting the seller to see if the problem can be fixed.
I did what my gut told me to do.

Omg block the buyer now. Save yourself from a guaranteed nightmare experience.

When I check a buyer's feedback left for others and I see no negs, that hints at, this buyer knows how to buy. Long time buyer, lot of feedback.
That is what I want to see and it explains why they are buying from my account. They know what to expect. Experienced buyers can read accounts.
If they have to leave a ton of negs, that hints at a problem buyer. Sometimes you can rule out a lot of the negs when the seller they left it for is NARU.
A lot of the time, the negs tell a story. Does not take much digging.
I don't encourage members to leave negs. Can end up with them on BBL's.
I have left one on this buying account. Seller did not ship and after I filed INR, he shipped and then did a switcheroo on one of the items. The neg got him to ship though, lol.
Put a sub-standard item in the box and resealed it...... that is what I got for taking a chance on a newbie. Actually had 2 transactions, 1st one was fine, 2nd time around, not so good. Had to INAD the sale.
