What Regions Do You Block?

Just got burned on a sale to Argentina...they don't have delivery confirmation and my buyer knows this.

So I just blocked South America altogether, as I've also had problems with buyers in Brazil as well.

ANYWAY, just wondering what regions are good ones to exclude from listings?  I feel like the only places worth risking are some European countries and Canada....

Is there a list anywhere of countries that don't do delivery confirmations to buyers?  Or is there is a list of countries Ebay's global shipping program wont ship to?  I know they won't ship to Argentina....wonder what other countries they won't ship to, as they probably have a better idea than most of us which are countries to avoid....

We ship to Canada, Alaska and Hawaii.   Gave up on true international last year due to Covid lockdowns Country-wide/USPS shipping debacles.

Might have to re-think that now that shipping has calmed down.

Except that you don't know how it is in other countries and I would argue that "the debacle" isn't over.

Agreed, whole heartedly.  But I have been thinking about Australia for some time.  Great Buyers there.

Selling for over 2 decades on Ebay, I have experienced a lot about safe international shipping.

I do NOT ship to Russia or the former Warsaw pact countries (except Poland), Mexico, all of Central and South America, the Middle East (except Israel), all of Africa, China, Asia (except Japan), and Southeast and Central Asia.

I used to say no to shipping to Italy and Greece, but lately reliable deliveries have been ok for me.

The UK, Western Europe, Scandinavia, Canada and Australia are the best countries I do ship to.

I have found that Russia and the former Warsaw Pact countries, except Poland, are still the worst for loss, scams and customs or postal worker theft. It seems that lying and cheating are still a part of the attitude that permeates too much of the populace and official agencies. No insult intended - just reality for avoiding the loss of the item and even my money to boot.

To all the countries and regions I listed that I don't sell to, I avoid losing my shirt. My domestic sales to the other countries is plenty for me.

Cheers, Duffy

I will ONLY ship to US addresses, including all 50 states and DC (which is not [YET!] a state).*

And to addresses related to the US:  territories like Puerto Rico and, of course, to APO and FPO addresses: American servicemembers stationed in, say, Germany or Okinawa.

And to Canada.

*Yes, that does include addresses in Delaware to buyers whose names are given in the Cyrillic alphabet, used in Russia.

@scotchtapeboutique2017  We add the ebay Global Shipping Program to our listings. Once the item is scanned in at the erlanger KY center, we are covered by ebay for anything that happens after that. ebay also calculates, charges and collects the fees and the shipping from KY to the final destination. Ebay also determines if the item is restricted in the country destination.

We do add a note to our listing that buyers can ship on their own account. They are responsible for shipping and any customs, taxes, duties, etc that might apply to their order. They email the shipping label and any necessary custom paperwork. We are leery of some Russian buyers, but have had some really good buyers from there. Good Luck!

I block everything but the lower 48. PO boxes OK. Also delete bids from non-US bidders with US delivery address.

Be careful with down under. Oz now has a 10% Goods and Services tax on any items entering the country. If the buyer doesn't pay it, eBay will take it out of your funds, no questions asked,

I have great luck with Australia,  New Zealand,   Great Britain,  Canada,  Norway.    I sell to these countries on a regular,  almost daily basis.

I have terrible luck with any country in South America

I've stopped shipping to any country that used to be Communist.     100% all have given me problems.

Middle east the customers are OK,    Their POs are not OK.     I do OK with Israel.
