Here is a picture of a visor clip (circle) and a candle holder (hearts on it)
I sold the candle holder and the buyer said I sent her silver. I thought I had lost my mind because I took a picture and it was gold. It just came back. What color do you see the candle holder is? My husband says gold. I sold it as gold.

The buyer knows its gold...its just an excuse to return it....I have gotten things returned on this same type of complaint too, I had a buyer buy foundation once and she messages me that the color didn't look good on her and wants to return it for a refund, so I sent her refund and told her just keep it, I can't sell it now its not knew anymore being that you have opened it...so annoying

I would say that it's most likely lacquered brass; the clear finish would keep it from tarnishing. I have a similar candleholder on my desk here, though it's pretty old and starting to tarnish anyway. The open pattern is stamped into a flat sheet of brass which is then (on mine) rolled into a tube and discreetly spot-welded down one side to close the seam.
I can't see that as being a gold piece, unless that's the thinnest, wispiest layer of gold deposited on the surface. Maybe it is, though; I'm trying to judge it from just one photo. In any case, the pattern of sparkly hearts suggests that it came from a Hallmark Gift Store. I would give it a thorough buffing with a soft cloth to remove all fingerprints, photograph it against a neutral gray background in strong lighting, and see how it goes. Good luck.
