I've been selling on eBay US for well over 10 years. Last year I added a second selling account. I didn't use it much until incentives for top rated seller plummetted to 10% and my power seller limits went south also. Since I've had a few sales on the second account, I decided to request higher selling limits from my current 200 items / $5,000 limit. Why not, it only takes a few keystrokes.
So I clicked on request higher limits and provided the requested information. A few minutes later I got a reply from eBay Australia telling me they could not increase my limits, but I could continue to list 10 items / $1,000 whichever came first. Huh? Double huh?
What? Why am I getting a response from eBay AU? Why are they decreasing item number by 20-fold? The weirdness never ceases to amaze me!

Whatever the reason maybe a glitch, call ebay after 10 AM PST, explain what happened before, and that you would like to increase your limits.

eBay does load balancing across its mail servers. So you'll get eBay messages from any available eBay mail server worldwide.

Even if ebay did this, the reply address should be from the site you requested it on.
If I received an email from an ebay site other than the one I sent it to, I would consider it a phishing email.
