Is anyone aware of eBay allowing pre-resistered questions yet on the Weekly Chat. I know it was requested but have not read or heard if it has been set up yet?

@chrysylysJust and FYI ... I am not talking about pre-scripted Q's ... just being able on the east coast to post something for the west coast time slot ...
The up side however, is a question a day or more ahead of time gives the team more time for one very comprehensive reply rather then several back and forths during the one hours session ... IMHO

I've been suggesting this for years - still have the emails going back and forth between myself and Jeff. Although he too thought it was a good idea - they never moved on it.
I felt especially when the updates come out and everyone is frantic on what does this mean and everyone is assuming things - if sellers and buyers could just list their questions - the Community Team could pick a couple that seemed to be asked more than others and reply to them.
As mr lincoln has said - the team could then do whatever research or contact whatever dept they needed to so they could give us answers rather than hearing - "We'll look into it" or "We'll have to check and get back to you" which were favorites of Jeff and Griff.
I will give this team lots of credit for actually looking into things and getting back to us concerning our questions. This is one area that has greatly improved in the past couple of years.

With ebays size/resources there should not just be a weekly chat and anyone should be able to ask questions or sumbit ideas daily. Most people are probably working their day job when they have the weekly chats.
Sure people can call in but that only answers 1 persons question and only if you get a good phone rep.
Putting the answers on chat gives everyone access to the information.
I have received answers after chat by email but then again no one else gets to see that answer but me.
Will ebay consider this?

@Yes, I will definately give the eBay Team credit for not only working every week on the Chat but also dropping in (whether unsolicited OR solicited when @ -ed) on to a thread for assistance or to post a clarification. Lets face it, Selling on eBay is not a simple task and when I say Sell I mean all the post sales issues like shipping, returns, etc.
I lack the historical experience many of the other long time sellers have here and yes, I was pointed toward Griff early on but I think at the time he was phasing out of a real active roll on The Discussion Boards. But to your point ... one hour and several indepth questions do not work well and often the thread gets locked when more beneficial info from OUR side might be forthcoming ... but the only ones who can post on a Locked thread are the eBay Team ...
BUT, I will say thank you to a few of them, where the discussion was continued and brought to completion (basically) on a separate thread. So they DO follow up ... just depends on where they have to go for their answers.

They would have to hire writers and, pretty soon, it would become a series, with re-runs and a new season every 'Seller Update'.
They could outsource it to the Philippines.

My thought as well on the overload, but perhaps the blues would/could screen pre-registered questions to limit those shown the general community interest rather than a deluge of nonsense. (not that there is an excess of that now, but there could be with a perchat set up)
My understanding is individual questions can be sent to be answered directly by those in the position to give official answers privately by using the direct community link, but I believe that mr_lincoin is looking at subjects of interest to a large portion of the board community.
Yes that is exactly right and the Team can cull through the Q's and eliminate the specific incident ones for the general Chat replies (unless the answer benefits everyone) ... they can of course message the individual ones if need be but Q's that benefit most members would get the answer posted on the Chat.
Now here's the thing a lot of people are missing with this idea ... this is for people, and probably more regular "Chatters", who simply can not make the time slot ... so even when and if their subject is answered they may not see the eBay Team reply until long after the Chat ends.
I really don't see this increasing their work load perse ... I mean how many times have we replied to threads here suggesting the member post their subject on the Weekly Chat and they say, "whats that?"

Today I received an answer to one of my weekly chat questions but no one else gets that information.
Could it be that ebay wants it that way?

Not necessarily ... there may not be any procedures in place that they have to follow and that may be part of what Alan was eluding to for changes coming in 2018. The fact that you got the answer to your question messaged directly is how the system should work right now ... publishing it on the locked thread they may realize folks don't get back to read it until perhaps the following week. I haven't even looked at this week's chat.
