Is anyone aware of eBay allowing pre-resistered questions yet on the Weekly Chat. I know it was requested but have not read or heard if it has been set up yet?

That is a great idea. I hadn't heard of it yet.
I rarely am able to make it to Wed chats as I have a prior commitment at that time but occasionally do have some questions. I'd love to be able to ask in advance.
Also, I hope it cuts down on all the other outside noise. Last week when I was reading through the chat log I found myself scrolling and scrolling to get the chitter chatter nonsense out of my face just to get to the actual Q&A's. What a waste of valuable time that chitter chatter is.

), and then the Weekly Chat would open at 1:00 p.m. and do... what, exactly? There would presumably be posters waiting to post, just as before, so would they have to wait for their answers until the pending questions are fielded first?
If the pending questions were visible to eBay staff in advance, so that they could work on the answers to them in advance, that would be great, but it would then beg the question of why we don't just have a Q&A with the staff going every day, instead of just one hour a week.
I'm not saying that it's a bad idea, but I'm just wondering how it's going to work out if it turns out to be a really really good idea.
Good point. They could always limit the pre-chat questions that they'll take to, say, 25 or so per week and then go into full chat for additional questions.

Excellent point on both posts ... nothing fancy, since we do NOT have this option yet it is only speculation on how it may or may not work. I like the idea of a more frequent and regular one too, they could begin M-W-F with different times to cover more time zones. If that's not enough coverage add days, if its too much back off.
Yes, that one hour a week goes by so fast,
And it is in the middle of the week, on a work day.
I am sure they are leaving a lot of members out of the loop.
Actually there are ... and a lot of those Members are Buyers, not just Sellers. Have you read any of the threads on the new Search results page where now you can only see like 24 where previously it was like 192 - 200? I replied on one and the Buyers are not happy with it, I suggested the Weekly Chat and one of them commented that they worked at that time and could I post something for them ...

Ummm, I don't know because I've never been to ebay on facebook but isn't that ebay's idea of a 24/7 FAQ place ?

At one time, the weekly chat was physically open about 10 minutes before the official 1 p.m. PT start. People could submit questions to be researched and answered at 1 p.m. or shortly after -- while additional queries were coming in.
In other words, the Blues could actually be responding to questions at 1 p.m. rather than wasting everyone's time. But I guess nobody in San Jose wants to take an early lunch and be ready to provide answers between 1 p.m. and about 1:15 p.m.
Tip: If you do have a question, prepare it in Notepad well in advance and then just copy and paste into the chat form the instant it becomes available. Don't try to compose within the form, except possibly to add an image for illustration.

They would have to hire writers and, pretty soon, it would become a series, with re-runs and a new season every 'Seller Update'.
'sides, I thought sitcoms were so 80's!
Is there an 'Acadamy Awards' or 'Golden Globes' for the 'net?

I have no clue, we don't do My Space, Your Face, Facebook, Pintrist, Twitter, Tweet, Squawk, Pitter-Patter or any other kind of Social Media ... we do however have a land line phone, cells phones, email, texting ... plenty of ways to communicate at the moment ...

Hi @mr_lincoln
The format of our weekly chat is remaining the same for the time being. We received a lot of feedback and suggestions through the survey we ran recently, we're working through all of that feedback and we will think about how best we can make improvements.
When/if we have updates to share we will post about it.
Thanks.

Very good advice... and let me add: use your advance draft time to revise your question and make it clear. Boil it down to its essentials, and see if someone reading your post for the first time will get what you're talking about. If it takes multiple paragraphs to get to your point, you can probably boil it down further.
I have nightmare recollections of one particular poster to the Chat from... oh, probably a couple of years ago now, a guy who was clearly in love with the sound of his own keyboard. As soon as the Chat opened, he'd dump in multiple, multi-paragraph essays of blather that he'd prepared in advance, totally dominating the opening page(s) of the Chat and making it difficult for anyone else to get a byte in edgewise. Don't be that guy. Just be condensed and concise, drop your draft into place, hit Post, and hope for the best.

I am confident that in time the US Weekly Chat will be more inclusive of other time zones and more importantly, for those who are normally working during the current Chat time. Maybe it will be implemented with the 2017 Fall Seller Update ...

It does not need an update at all.
All that is needed is for someone to open the chat board early. Not a big deal. They don't have to answer anything until chat time. It may also give them time to look at the questions in more depth.
