I specialize in Diecast vehicles and deal with most of the top brands. I just had one of the listings taken down and was sent a message from ebay that I cannot misuse brand names in the title. The listing was for a Vanguards car, and that series is manufactured by Corgi, so in the listing title I put Vanguards (Corgi). I was told by an ebay rep over the phone that I had to remove the name of Corgi. I told him it was made by Corgi under the name of Vanguards. He told me I could only use the name Corgi in the listing description and not the title. I asked if someone was searching for Corgi vehicles, how would they search for them. (No answer). He then went on to tell me I needed to remove the name Corgi from the title listing on all my items for it not to be flagged.
When I asked him again how I would search for Corgi Diecast cars, he told me he needed to research it more and that he would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. Before I hung up the phone, I asked him to do a search on ebay for Corgi diecast cars, he would see hundreds of items listed with the name of Corgi in the listing title. He stated if that was the case, it means that they just need time to review them all. I got the feeling he was trying to tell me we cannot use brand names in the titles anymore.
Does not make any sense to me at all.

There are some brandnames that cannot be used (like Velcro or so I've heard). Read more on this page about the VeRO Program: http://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/listing/create-effective-listings/vero-program.html#what-is-the-...
If your listing was removed, don't try to re-list because that could put your eBay account at risk.

Yep ... ran across a similar occurance not too long ago. I tried to list a pair of vintage Nike Air Jordan Sneakers and try as I might I could NOT list them. I kept getting a vague error reference to "keyword spamming".
I removed the Nike part & it successfully listed ... I revised the lisitng to substitute Air Jordan for Nike & it again accepted that.
As soon as I revised it to once again read Nike Air Jordan, it would NOT accept it.
The stupidity of eBay has no boundries.

Unfortunately, the CSRs are NOT trustworthy when it comes to some details. If your listing was removed by eBay then you are on eBay's radar when it comes to this item. Re-listing can cost you your account--when that happens, there's no going back. I've read more than a few sad stories here on the message boards regarding this very thing. I advise caution, and I'd advise you to get more advice here on the boards. Posters here have actual experience and they will tell you the truth. CSRs sometimes tell you what you want to hear.

You're listing several different toy brands. Who makes THAT one? How long ago? Was it originally sold in the US, or imported?
It may be that the licensing deal ran out or is only valid in some countries.

You most likely got reported by a competitor, trying to shut you down. I would not relist it for a while, but that's me. Once you're on the radar, it takes months to get off of it. Multiple violations could cause your seller account to be suspended. Asking an eBay CS Rep what the right answer is, is like trying to teach a pig to fly.

I tried to post a listing for a bodysuit today and types onesie and was blokced essentially telling me that name was proprietary to Gerber. UGH Really. Gerber must be hungry for cash if they are coming after ebay for this.

Don't use parentheses, they seem to set off the bots. Just type in Corgi Vanguards. You'll see that title already well represented. on ebay. Just follow the format; manufacture's name Brand name.
