Way overpriced items

I know it's ebay, and you can ask what price you want. But how can some people get away asking  outrageous overpriced items? For example a seller is trying selling a little piece of moose hide, 3ftx18" for $900. I contacted them to ask if that was for real, and the were very arrogant about the price. You can buy full hides for under $400 from numerous tanneries. Just seams like bad business practices.  Then they message me telling my they sold a bunch of them on ebay.  Too funny, because not one listed on their sales record. What a joke this seller is.

What to you mean "get away", if it's overpriced it won't sell, if it's not actually overpriced they may sell so they are not "getting away" with anything.

So anyone looking at "lowkre-60" post here.. My store is SOMETHINGUNEEK and we have well over 1000 items in my store everything we sell is handmade by us... So having said that he is the TRUE story unlike what "lowkre-60" said.. Yes it is true we have one listing for a piece of moose hide for $900 I even thought of making it $3000 dollars shortly. The reason for that I will tell you shortly but back to the story. Lowkre-60 asked "Are you serious for that piece of hide?" I said "Yes, too low? I can rise the price if you like. How about $3000 would that be okay with you?" Lowkre-60 has no sense of humor and he said" Very arrogant of you. I'll make sure to reflect that on the ebay forum". AS IF I WAS SCARED! LOL,,,, any who he said he was going to start selling moose hides for $99 to compeat with me.... LOL.... I love it.  Well maybe I am arrogant or stupid but I sell $200 to $300 a day so I love what I do. And yes everyone has a right to their thoughts. My listing scared this guy for whatever reasons so much so he had to take the time to let me know what a waste of time.. SO the real reason for the listing bold letters here: I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO SELL THE MOOSE HIDE"! LOL.... Why because I get people like this lowkre-60 who see it and then ask me questions which in turn I show them the other things we hand make and bingo I make more sells.     Sometimes I get people like lowkre-60 who are just plain mean and do not understand business at all. Now lowkre-60 if you are reading this if you can I have just a couple of days ago another people who like you were slightly mean but I ended up selling them a rifle sling for $300 all because of that moose hide! OH YEA I almost forgot I begged him to let me know when he made this post... ANY POST IS great advertisement good or bad in the eye of the beholder! Thank you lowkre-60 you made my day again!

Thank you slippinjimmy,,, We were not trying to sell it anyway it was a listing that makes a lot of our new customs take the time to look at the other things we sell in our store. We could care less if it sells or not lowkre-60 is just so upset for his own personally reasons eating him up.

You can not get you're story correct.. let me help you again follow my words here... The moose hide did not sell! Got it? We do not want to sell it,. got it? We use the listing to pull people in to look at our store and it workds all the time! You want proof? It sure worked on you and I hope one day you will understand maybe not but there is always hope... Did you know just last week another person like you ask the same questions but they had a sense of humor unlike you... AND  I ended up selling them a $300 rifle sliing.  So YOU yes YOU keep giving me free advertisement... I already had several people who came to my store asking what is going on and yes they liked what they saw in my store ALL BECAUSE OF YOU! Thanks I really mean it....you are the best.

Hey lowkre-60 is just upset for his own personal reason... We use that listing to pull in new customers to look at our store. We really do not want to sell it lowkre is taking this personally not for the business it does for us... thank you for your replay by the way.

@somethinguneek  Actually I love your business plan! Some businesses use "loss leaders' to bring in customers but you are using a high-priced item to get customers to look.

This is what makes the free market great. If its overprice then do not buy. If its not then buy. If its something you want buy.  Its not a necessity so price has no ceiling or bottom.

Thanks,,, and yes it really works extremely well... as an example today alone I sold 5 items but only 4 of them were because of the moose hide... that total by the way was only $550 for one day. So yea it does work but for some really strange reason it **bleep** off people like lowkre... either way I am glad for that.
