Watching an Item

I have had items listed for 30 days at a time (not on Auction, but "Buy It Now"). Many items get several "Watchers" throughout the month.  When the month ends and the new month begins, I automatically relist the item.  However, the number of "Watchers" go away and start at "0" Watchers again.  Does this mean, the people that were watching no longer have my item on their Watch list?  Just curious...I'd hate to lose a potential buyer.

Watching an Item

I notice watchers don't always buy.  However, if it gets up to 8-10 watches, somebody usually buys the item. Not always...but sometimes.  Also, I find that if someone sends me a question and I answer them, they never end up buying the item.  It's weird, because sometimes I will give them the answer they want to hear, and they still don't buy it.  But, you're right, I shouldn't expect Watchers to buy very often.  I guess I just use that as an optimistic feel that maybe they will!!  It gets my hopes up! Thanks for your imput!

I'm fairly sure ebay notifies them that the item has ended, but seller has relisted, with a link to the listing

BUT I wouldn't put too much hope in those watchers to buy .........

I still have completed items from long ago on my watch list.......

As for notifications on relisting, this isn't a given as the email notification for such relistings is a communication preference buyers can have on or off.

Lastly, if you have "watchers" but not buyers, one of the things you might try is RAISING your BIN price.  What do you have to lose?  One of the primary (I believe) reasons people watch only is they are hoping for a better price down the line.

I've had that happen many-a-time ... and a LOT of the time the question is answered right in the listing.

I *think* this might be subtle psychological knudge from the buyer to send them a "Reply with offer", without them even asking for a lower price.

I believe it does....thats why if you list it "Til Cancelled" then your watchers will stay.  It makes sense if you're going to relist every month to just let the system relist automatically , which is what the "Til Cancelled' option does.

Also...if it is something that you run out of, but will get more in...then you should use the "out of stock" preference...you won't lose your watchers this way either.
