Hi! This is a question to more experienced sellers than me. When you see a "watcher" in your listing, does it mean that there is somebody interested in your item to buy or just to see if it sells? I have several items with multiple watchers and time comes by and items are relisted for another month and no reaction from the watchers. Is this normal? are they really buyers? or people that have similar items and also sellers? I would appreciate very much your feedback on this issue.

Unfortunately the ebay system does not know WHY someone is watching an item.

The only reason to check out the watchers list is to an send offer where eligible. Pondering what the intent of any one watcher is futile and a waste of time.

Nobody knows. As much as I like seeing I have watchers, I also realize they means nothing

I could be wrong, of course, but think it all began when eBay attempted to be like social media, i.e. Facebook, Instagram, and attracted folk who, well, just like items. Some I believe watch to compare prices or as stated by someone here, competitors but I still lean towards the social media approach. TBH, watchers do help move your item ahead in the algorhithm as I hear tell, so it's probably beneficial.

As stated its a mix of both. I look at if I have any views at all! LOL
I personally dont watch another sellers item to see if it sells, etc. Id just quick do a search.
I watch things Im interested in possibly buying.
