I wonder where I stand?
I just sold a watch a in mint condition, no marks or scratches and spare link.
The Watch passed the Authentication process and was sent to the buyer.
But the buyer has just messaged me saying that park of the link is missing - but is clearly shown in the photograph. I pointed this out to the buyer and he insists it’s missing and doesn’t care that it was showing on the auction photo as it’s missing now.
The buyer claims that there is a scratch on the side of the watch and has sent me a photo which does show a scratch that is not showing on my auction photos.
The buyer wants to know how I am going to resolve this as he says that without the link, the watch won’t fit on his wrist.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thankyou
john

The following link should provide the answers you need. Since you specified seller does not accept returns in the listing this may cause some minor issues.

Alas I am still not sure where I stand??
The Buyer is disputing the description on my auction which is supposed to be verified by the Authenticator.
The buyer has suggested that maybe the Authenticator has lost the collar pin and scratched the watch.
He will no doubt want to return it to me in a worse state than when I sold it?.

I see your in the UK but this should not matter. This buyer of yours is required to send this watch back to the authenticator in its entirety including the authentication badge that was issued.
Here is a snippet of the rules that the buyer must follow.
Good luck to you.

Well I contacted eBay customer service UK and spoke to someone about this. They told me to tell the buyer to send the watch back via the Authentication centre. They will re inspect the watch and compare to their original inspection. The buyer is already complaining about this as they blame the Authenticator for scratching the case and losing the link pin collar (the customer service rep, could see the “missing colar” in my auction photograph. We will see what happens next ???

It is possible that the authentication center did in fact scratch the case and lost the link pin although your comment about "the customer service rep could see the missing collar" in your auction photograph. Was the link pin collar actually missing when you sent the item? The big concern would be if the buyer opens a NAD chargeback with their CC company. If that happens there is a good probability, unless eBay gets involved, that the buyer will be fully refunded either by your or out of eBay's pocket and the buyer will get to keep the item.
I refrain from listing high dollar items on eBay due to the scamming risk and always follow the #1 seller rule and that is to NEVER list anything you cannot afford to take the financial loss on.
Will see if the buyer actually returns the item to the authentication center.
