Hello,
We have bought from a distributor in the USA for many years ( sell it in our physical store) but they are also a retailer + wholesaler (the distributor has two business models. Does eBay care?). We wish to know if eBay will need our invoices from our distributors to confirm the legitimacy of my products in the case of an authenticity claim? Amazon likes invoices! Does eBay need invoices?
Thank you!

Could use some help please!

eBay doesn't always ask for invoices, but they do sometimes, so it is always a good idea to have them available.
Since you are operating as a business, the IRS expects you to act like a business and keep the usual business records. That includes invoices, so this is standard operating procedure, and that may be why marketplaces like eBay and Amazon ask for them. A real business will have them available, a shady operation that is sourcing from questionable sources probably will not.

So eBay has a firm record of who the authorized distributors are in the USA similar to Amazon? eBay is acting in the same behaviors to Amazon asking for product authenticity invoices even for regular branded stuff (not high end or fashion related)? So Amazon policies are same as eBay?

I would be a good idea to provide invoices should you be asked for them. Another thing is you are using stock photos...it's a good idea to take your own pictures of the items you're selling.
Good luck to you and Happy Sales.

No, I didn't say that. I can't speak to any of that.
What I can say, is that eBay does sometimes ask sellers to provide copies of their invoices. Usually, this is in relation to sellers who suddenly have a new line of goods for sale, which may be sourced from liquidation sites, which are often used to fence stolen goods or distribute counterfeit goods. Liquidation sites don't usually provide very good, or very detailed or accurate invoices.
As long as you are sourcing from a legitimate supplier, and not from a liquidation site, you should be fine. You may not even be asked to verify your sources. But if you are, then as long as you can provide legitimate, detailed invoices, that support the items and quantities that you have listed/sold, you should be fine.

Do you have invoices for all your products or are they handmade?

I guess what im asking is if eBay ever asked you for invoices?

Thank you for clearing that up!

I have invoices & receipts for all of the items that I purchase to make my hand made items. And Yes, they are all hand made by yours truly. 😊
Wishing you good luck and Happy Sales.

There is one BIG difference, eBay won't use the information you give them to start selling in direct competition with you (Amazon does and they like to know who their 3rd party seller are sourcing from and what they are paying).

It looks like you ended several of your items for sale. You had a lot more yesterday. What happened?

No? Can you give examples of which products?

Sorry...it was someone else who was selling some similar items.
Happy Selling!!
