I sold an item, then received a message about my money being withheld until I updated my account info by providing bank info. Then I see where it says E-bay account name must match bank account name - which mine does NOT. And...I am UNABLE to remedy this anywhere - no method of contacting anyone.
Therefore, I AM NOT SHIPPING ITEM TO BUYER who has unfortunately already paid for it. Now buyer will have to deal with getting his money back from E-Bay or wait until E-Bay contacts me personally to resolve this issue.
I will no longer use E-Bay for anything, ever.

Yes, the eBay account holder name must match the name on the bank account.
Contacting them will probably be a waste of time as this is the rule...period.
You can take a stand and refuse to comply, but this will most likely result in the account being closed and banned.
Good luck

account settings>personal information: https://accountsettings.ebay.com/profile Next to personal info, change your name.
I had to remove my middle name.

This is my suggestion. Open an on-line bank account, which ebay accepts, and put your name on the same as your ebay account. I use a Wal-mart Green dot card. It has a bank and routing number. Use this card for your ebay transactions only. You can order one on line:

I have had one for over 6 years and have zero problems. I think it's free to order and there is a small monthly fee.
Hope this has been helpful and may change your mind about selling here. Good luck to you.
