Volume Discount offer ... how can it work with Immediate Payment (ongoing) glitch?

I got this offer today and am a bit perplexed since to my knowledge (and experience) the "multiple purchase not combining shipping with Immediate Payment required" glitch is still alive and well ... how can this work with that ongoing glitch?

I am trying it , had to load mine with item numbers and in my seller hub under promotions it says PAUSED. No Idea what that means.

I got this one too. If combined shipping won't work, there's no way I'll even try it. Nope.

That being said, I've had multiple purchases from the same listing have sales recently. But I use a flat rate shipping scheme with a percentage combined discount, not by weight, nor calculated. They got processed by the cart just fine. I also use Immediate Payment. Don't know if this info will be helpful or not.

@no-plain-white-envelopes  I tried some of the canned Porommtions a while back on different accounts but had NO success at all ... about the only thing I found that works (for what we sell anyway) is Promoted Listings.  Antiques, collectibles, vintage, used, etc. and every so often I simply put ALL fixed price listings up on a 30 day P.L. Campaign for "X" % and let 'er rip ... seems to work.

@moo*cow*corner  Thanks, the combined item purchases are hit or miss ... sometimes they all come through on one  invoice and at other times they don't.  I have Immediate payment required turned ON for Fixed Price listings.  Auction items work fine on a multiple purchase and I send one combined invoice with adjusted shipping costs.

The process to combine items in one package AFTER the sale seems cumbersome, I have not tried it yet.

After the sale, I can do that, no thanks to ebay. I use a 3rd party shipping program that has a ton of fancy toys. It can combine all orders going to the same address.

I can even split orders into multiple shipments if I want. Multiple labels for the same order. The program automatically uploads tracking, but sometimes I need to make sure all shipments have tracking showing.

This promo looks like a mess waiting to happen somewhere.

Makes me wonder if ebay needs some seller data  guinea pigs to try things out.

@moo*cow*corner  That other program sounds great ... too bad Home Office has no clue how to program in that functionality.

I think they need sales since this is towards the end of the month AND I read some posts elsewhere the stocks are down PLUS the US cracking down on cheap shipping costs from China, etc.  It all sort of points to trying to boost US sales again especially the Vintage-Antique-Collectible-Used- Rare-Unique (VUCARU) market.  Getting targeted (no NOT random) Promos on accounts that normally don't get them ...

I don't even want to try with all the coding problems going on. Just another in a long, long list of ways to throw money in the trash.

I'm doing promoted listings at fire sale prices to clear out some space. I was strarting to get close to my 10K listings a month.
