I made a listing selling an old phone as an auction. It got bought out for 57 dollars. It got weird though, the buyer didn't pay (and still hasn't) and upon being contacted I received an automated message saying they are "out of office" until next month. A few days later, they have put up a listing that had the exact same title as my phone's listing, but with a picture of a random woman as the image.

They don't have the phone, I haven't sent it. They haven't paid. Very weird, seems like they could be a bot. Don't know what to do now except cancel the order and relist it. Just posting cause this seems very suspicious.

Suspicious or not, if you have your settings fixed to have eBay do so, they will cancel and refund your FVF on the 5th day and buyer has a strike. If you don't have your settings fixed, then you can cancel, citing unpaid and will have that same result.

A phone dressed as a woman Highly unusually. It could be Trick or Treat.

...and which has 4 bids at the moment. Some people will bid on anything... 🙄

They are probably hoping to sell it before paying for it.
Once they sell it, they'll pay you for it and use their buyers address to ship it to.

Dont trust that for a second. I've just relisted it, seems safest...

If you have relisted it, let's hope you cancelled that first transaction.

it does not matter how weird the buyer is or what they do with a listing that is not yours
ebay rules state you are supposed to wait it out and cancel for non payment
its as simple as that...............buyer behavior is not a reason to flout procedure or the rules
the blues have mentioned you can cancel early only if its a scam such as tying to get you to text or take it off of ebay
cancellation abuse is rampant with sellers and its mentioned every single day on the boards
I hope you get a trouble free sale for it

I know the rules, i already did that.. i waited the days required and canceled for non-payment before making this post.

Start using 'immediate payment required' on all fixed price listings over $20 and your selling life will improve 100%.
Never sell cell phones on-line. Gambling is best left for Vegas.
