Very little Sales

I have been a seller now for 13 years and I have a good variety of items for sale.  But for the past two months my sales have been very low, only about 2 sales a week.  I have not experienced this before.  March is usually somewhat slow but this seems to be continuing on.  Whats going on?

Well, it's April, so that's tax time and property tax time.   Those cannot be helping sales.

Other than that, I cannot even guess.   Sales are fickle-bored today and buried in shipments next week.

Do you mean, do we have an answer to the failing economy, gas prices, and inflation?

Some sellers are up.

Some sellers are down.

It depends what you are selling and what people are buying.

Tax season

High gas prices and getting higher

High grocery prices

Higher utility prices

High rent

Higher taxes

High everything

These are "essentials."  Things that are not essential have been pushed to the side.  Hopefully not for ever, but for now this is the focus of current affairs. Not just in our country, but in our world as a whole.  Stay positive.

I viewed your items for sale. You have a lot of nice items for sale and that cheetah leopard skin on the car hood is really cool.  🙂 Food for thought if I may? Are you open to expanding your product line for things that are a must need for buyers?

Let me explain what I mean. In this unpredictable economy and high prices in gas, groceries etc, people are buying mostly needed items until things get better financially and they have more disposable income they can spend on other items. I know that's not what you might want to see, but honesty is the only way I know.

Even in the auto business, we experience this also. People are prolonging repairs till the vehicle just goes down and they need to repair it. We are also experiencing a shortage in parts to repair vehicles which hurts everyone. I understand your frustrations but in time things will get better so hang in there!

Along with all the other answers...

You write: "I have a good variety of items for sale"

This is not necessarily a good thing. Last I knew (and it may have changed), eBay prioritizes your one or two best categories and boosts them. Unless it's obvious (we definitely get a boost in books) I'm not sure how to tell which categories.

Thank you for the response. I have been selling on here for 13 years, recently back from a 1 year break. I have never heard of this but makes perfect sense. Thanks for sharing.

My sales are very slow, almost nothing also. I noticed you have best offer on all of your items. Has it helped ? I have best offer on about 30 of my 49 listings. So far, only 1 low offer which I counter offered & crickets. My counter offer was 20% off an already low price.

Just wondering if the best offer was working for you. Hope things improve for you.

Welcome to the world of beta testing, they LOVE good sellers in there.  Wait until you have one sale every 2 weeks.  The web designers rule this place.  Your toast.  It won't ever be the same for you now.

I’ve come to the conclusion that not only has eBay changed something on their coding end, but this site is not getting return customers or the right customers at this time.  While my sales on Etsy, amazon, and Walmart have remained steady or increased, ebay has slowed down dramatically.  I have tried some tricks and even though they seem to help, only for a very short time.  I used to average 7-10 sales a day, now lucky to get 2-3.  Only since the fall update in October did things change.  I know everyone says it’s this or that but when sales on other platforms are down or moving steadily, it does not explain the cliff falling of eBay when looking at the charts.  I mean it was a mile high and then just dropped.  But I really hope for the best.  eBay was always my strongest selling platform and I was growing nicely, but even with me about to be pushing the highest item count ever on ebay

sales still are not coming.

Mine dropped drastically about a month ago. I'm down 60% from last year. Like you stated, it was as if someone put a closed sign up, it just dropped off a cliff. I even looked to see if some how my store was on vacation mode. I feel like I did something to anger  the powers that be.

I can talk about all the reasons in the world why sales would be bad but its VERY obvious these slow sales are a direct result of ebay. This is my 23rd years selling fulltime, I will have zero sales for 20 hours then in a hours time get 5 sales, all from the Pacific NW, or the East coast, or Florida, then crickets again for 15 hours.
