Vero violation for using stock image suppled by eBay Prefilled info

Got hit with Vero violation for using eBay catalog's stock image. Called this morning and explained to the person five times, this isn't my fault its fault of eBay for supplying this image. She kept on making different excuses

Excuse 1: You can't sell those items cause you're not authorized seller (WRONG INFO)

Excuse 2: These pics are to be used only by authorized sellers (WRONG INFO)

Excuse 3: We restricted your account to give you knowledge on how this works (WRONG INFO)

I told her same exact thing happened in December and the rep told me that violation was removed from the account. And she said no it wasn't and this is my third strike. I had 2nd strike in January and I admit that was my fault but this time and in December it wasn't as I used stock image when you sell an item and put UPC. An image shows up with word stock photo underneath. I am so upset because I explained about five times this isn't my fault by of eBay's and she wouldn't budge.

In these difficult times, my family depends on my income and have no income for 3 days is gonna really put a hole in my wallet. I don't know what to do. Sent email yesterday to Vero eBay dept and haven't heard anything. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking and I have ZERO sales.

Any suggestions would be helpful to reinstate my account as the rep I got is severely misinformed and was no help. Thank You folks.

Well, the first things that come to mind:

1 KNOW and FOLLOW the rules. Period.

2 Use your OWN photos, always.

3 Don't relist or keep listing things that got you in trouble. eBay is gonna go over your account with a fine tooth comb for at least 60 days after you violate policy. So don't violate policy, and don't poke the bear.

Though you may not want to hear this, if you are depending on eBay alone for income, then you better play by the RULES, every step of the way. Otherwise, if you are not, you got punished and rightly so.

I might also suggest you look for other avenues to sell your products. All your eggs in one basket isn't super smart. Spread out a little.

Getting unlocked early? Not happening. Better play nice or the next time it could be for good. If this is your income, don't mess around. Be a straight shooter, and put in the work. Short cuts usually mean trouble at some point.

Dont use stock images. I took a look at your watch listings and the images seem to have been borrowed from all over the place. If these are all your own listings then one would expect to see some consistency in photos from one to the next. Instead these look like they have been copied from various other sellers and in at least one case you are combining multiple sources as well.

For example - in your listing for 'Orient Perpetual Calendar 44MM Men's Two-Tone Stainless Steel Watch' - you are showing photos of what look like at least two different examples of that watch from different sellers mixed together. In some photos the watch is showing the 23rd and the persons hand has a ring on one finger. In other photos the watch is showing the 21st and the hand has no ring on it. Colors are slightly different between the two sets of photos as well so its hard to say which would be more accurate.

Just take your own photos of every watch every time. That way everyone can see that its your watch that they will be buying and you should be able to avoid trouble with VERO.

Take your own pictures.

Quit using stock photos.

Ebay buyers almost universally hate that.

Same thing happened to me. You can still sell things and make offers you just can't list anything new.  I took new pictures of anything that had a stock photo and removed any content in my item description that came from them as well . Even if it's through ebays catalog it doesn't matter to some of the Vero companies.  Plus I never use the catalog because 9 times out of 10 there is something incorrect in it like size, color, dimensions so I stay away. Since then I have not had not issues and they nailed me all within a 6 week period.
