Variations help please

I have a few questions about variations. Below is a screen shot of as far as I got. First, what I'm selling . A couple hundred blue Oxford shirts. One model, one color. Then there are sizes; XXS,XS,S,M,L,XL,2XL,3XL4XL and 5XL. Each size has 2 or 3 sleeve lengths. So for my first question. Is size an attribute? Am I on the right track, or already derailed? I think I might be derailed as I can only enter 5 sizes, the max # of attributes. Max of 5? (What do shoe sellers do?) This doesn't seem right, which leads me to think I'm not on track. If so, then I'll make 2 listings.

You look like you're understanding how to.....

but the 5 limit on the "Variation Attribute" can be a problem. You can have a lot of "options" but that limit on the attribute will be troublesome.

Unless maybe  you make the single attribute "Shirt Type" --- display reads [ Blue Oxford ]

then the options of "Size | Sleeve Length" --- display reads

[  XXS | Sleeve-22" ] 

[ XXS  | Sleeve-23" ]

[ XXS  | Sleeve-24"]

[ XS  |  Sleeve-22"  ]

...and so on

there are 240 some combination that way (max)

Hi, you need to choose ‘size’ as the variation, which will allow you to add as many sizes as you want under that heading. Main attribute should be the ‘name’ of your product, like Oxford blue shirt. Once you’ve set up all your sizes under the size variation, which you do by adding it under the variation on the left, you can create another variation called ‘sleeve length’.

By ticking the sizes in the middle box, you’re limiting your variations.
